I name my character based on THEIR lore, not TES lore. I still selected that option.

For example, my paladin was a descendent of Pelinal Whitestrake, so he was Aureal Whitestrike(the name had changed over time, which is why he didn't know he was a direct descendant.)

Once i made a redguard with white hair and pale skin named Aliya Iceheart.

I recently made an orc who doesn't look very orcy at all. She's named Alieana gro-Nagorm, descendant of the famous Gortwog, but whose existance was somewhat taboo to discuss, because she doesn't seem to be entirely orc. The name alone was enough to provoke controversy.

My 1st character is called Lilleth, she is a Dunmer but I tend to player her more as a (less chaotic!) Inteligent Drow.

I normally choose real world names that seems appropriate to my interpretation of the race's lore. I normally go for archaic, vowel-heavy celtic or french names for elven characters.

Umm.. same as forum name (Korr). I used it in WoW for a Tauren, but it sounds Nordic enough.

I was very excited to have a new game and eager to play it. Before long I realized I'd spent about 30 minutes obsessively designing every detail regarding the look of my Nord character and thought, "What the heck am I doing? This doesn't matter, just play the game - I feel like a dork." The next screen asked me to name him, so I chose "Dork." Every once in a while I get a letter addressing me as such and I have a little chuckle. It fits in nicely with my type of humor - every time someone calls me on my cell phone I look down and see a picture of the caller making a face and giving me an obscene gesture.

My next character will be a Bosmer named Faldil.

I have yet to come up with my future Khajiit and Breton.

I got four Imperials: Vera Darksky( Werewolf and a Huntress), Kraven Desselius(A warrior and a werewolf), Draken Decumus Vladmirius(Male vampire assassin and warrior) and Raven Meridius Vladmirius(Vampire assassin/mage)

I've got Vazant the khajiit and Wajj'aw the bosmer. Usually just pull something out of my ***. But I do on occasion spend way more time thinking about it than I'd care to admit.

My Khajiit is named Aravi. I try to get something that fits the race or character. I ended up looking at a large list of Khajiit names and chose the one that struck me as hers.

... But I do on occasion spend way more time thinking about it than I'd care to admit.

Good names are always difficult for me to think of. That's why I sometimes have to use a name list to come up with something.

Hannador was my Champion's name in LoTRO.... it just stuck with me even after I left that game.

In TES, I'll use whatever fits the lore. Right now I have a Nord warrior that uses the name "Bjorn the Fearless". It was Bjorn the Besotted Blacksmith but it was changed because he jumped off a the cliff above Skyborn Alter just to battle a dragon.

I named my female Nord Adora you know after the She-Ra cartoons. So far she's kicking butt and taking names, however I think I've should have made her an Imperial instead of a Nord but due to the nature of the game I think a Nord character is a must.

Odysseus. Obviously the protagonist in the Odyssey. Why? Because 1) Odysseus is bad ass and decimates anyone that gets in front of him 2) The odyssey is my favorite book 3) Fits because I fight as a warrior class with a shield and one-handed sword and also own with a bow and arrow just like Odysseus. Nuff said.

One that fits with the race. My current character is Imperial so I have something somewhat "Romanesque" - Darius Fidelis.

I use a name generator for my characters just so I have jumping off point that works for their race.
