What Do You Need to Do to Obtain Ballistic Armor Ability

Post » Mon Mar 28, 2016 3:20 am

Other threads talk a lot about how good it is to have ballistic weave capability, but I have found none in the forum that tell me what I must accomplish to gain it other than it is provided by the RR. (I am on Windows 10 PC Platform.)

I am wondering when I will get the ability to make armor mod using ballistic weave. Can anyone advise me on what I must do (what quest(s) or whatever) to gain this armor mod ability?

Background: I have completed nearly every quest given by RR (exceptions, only one: 1 MILA placement (because I can't figure out how to climb onto the monorail to place it --monorail near Faneuil Hall, close to RR HQ and Corner Bookstore, but I have completed 4 other MILA placements). I have killed at least 3 coursers, etc. etc.. Working with Liam for mass Synth breakout, but can't say that I particularly like the guy.. . . .

[If pertinent, for BoS am building Liberty Prime; for Institute am on Hold for Mass Fusion (plan to tell BoS about it); for MM on hold to take the Castle but have more settlements than I can really defend and still explore and do quests the way I like --for my second play-through (after I finish the 1st) I will Definitely postpone the MM portion (ie, Concord) until level 50 or later despite liking them the best even if their settlers seem to be wimps when fighting.]

In advance, thanks for the information. To one and all, good luck and good hunting! regards, RC

You probably already have it. Take a trench coat to an armor bench, preferably Piper's.

Pam gives it to you. I think after the third or second mission you do for her.

Yeah, it's a quest given by PAM (for me it was the first cache quest), and then Drummer Boy, once you return, will tell you that Tinker Tom wishes to speak with you about it. He will be the one to essentially "declare" that you've unlocked it, and you'll be able to buy clothing with BW mods from him.

Do the rail road quests up to where pam gives you missions/talks to you. After the second one you drop the cache off with her and the one annoying guy will run up to you and tell you Thomas has something for you. Once you talk to Tom and he talks about the BaWv and how amazing the find it its good to go on any work bench.

Okay, I'll give it a try soon on the armor bench (must admit, have not done many mods except to create shadow combat and muffled armor -to date), Thanks for the quick responses, regards, RC
