What do you NOT want in Skyrim #2

Post » Wed Apr 06, 2011 4:54 am

closed cities (if they must have cities in child worldspaces then please don't use the same boring, bland, giant city walls that they used on every city in Oblivion)

Having the cities be open would be truly fantastic, but I'm not betting on it... At least not before the modding community gets their hands on it. But even if the way they seperated city cells just alternated between stone and wooden palisades, it would be a lovely change. More variety than that would be too good to be true.

The top two things I don't want in Skyrim are:

Level Scaling

and

Caps on the number of skills levels per character level that you can train. I don't want to have to grind EVERY SINGLE character for HOURS. I have a life, no time for all that

Thong armour... I've seen the mods you sick puppies

But on a serious note, I think the only thing that I really wouldn't like to see is a multiplayer/co-op mode. And exclusive DLCs. Just doesn't seem fair.

-No funny names for perks.
-No cactus enemies (tons of arrows sticking out yet alive)
-No "honest merchants that don't buy stolen goods"
-No single piece armor. (Fallout style)
-No same looking NPC's. (Even though Oblivion had a system that made every NPC unique technically, they ALL felt the same, whereas in MW you could find your face yet still look different)
-No key requirements at Security over 85-90
-No psychic guards

I suppose the game mostly done. I personally don't see too much of a point in "put in" or "don't include" threads

I DO NOT WANT deadric, glass, ebony or mithril to be common.
I DO NOT WANT spiders in the game. Or any insects for that matter.
I DO NOT WANT fast travel (Oblivion style) Instead I want to earn maps and a compass. And not the magic marker.
I DO NOT WANT guns or gunpowder.

I DO WANT more voices and battlecryes.
I DO WANT more monsters (atleast 150) and armor (atleast 25 metals).
I DO WANT the game to be challenging and preparing.
I DO WANT the difficulty slider.

Guns. Don't want em. They'll replace bows, as the only people who'd use them would be those fighting for tradition. As such, if I want to keep up with the baddies who are leveling with me, I'm also going to need to use a gun and I do not want to use one. Especially as a marksman.

I don't want people to look identical to each other.
I don't want every single person to have the same complexity.
I don't want to see dialogue with Bj?rn Hasselstr?m and find he has the exact same things to say that Ronald McDonold had.
I don't want to see simplification or hand holding.

It was sad already, but bears repeating:
Static clothing and hair. We live in 2011, not beginning of '90. I mean having dynamic snow of all things and your hair and robe are still made of wood... That would be huge let down.

I do not want Perks, Traits, or anything Fallout related but I do want to be able to dismember people like in Fallout.
I do not want multiplayer, unless it is released months later as a large DLC.(multiplayer will make singleplayer suffer)
I do not want Xbox 360 to have exclusive DLC.
I do not want the map to be smaller than Cyrodil.
I do not want the entire map to be snow(already know it is not 100% snow)
I do not want pointless 8 dollar DLC(only large expansions like Shivering Isles)
I do not want game breaking bugs.
I do not want patches that make the game have more bugs.(IE: Fallout NV)
I do not want this game to be released in November(June-August would be much better).
I do not want guns.
I do not want the PC version to require a NASA supercomputer to run.
I do not want this game to be in Skyrim(I would prefer Black Marsh).

I do not want:

- Quest markers/Exclamation marks.
- A smaller world.
- Lack of weapon and armor variety (Oblivion, for example)
- Too few factions/guilds
- One-sided, linear, black-and-white main story.
- The game to end once the main quest is complete.
- Further simplification of everything.
- Too much balancing (it's a single-player game, realism/balance any day)

Imperials Nords and Bretons that resemble each other too much.

I hope they will be more distinct in appearance than they were in Oblivion.
