First person, so I really hope it doesn't force you to switch into third person when doing those finishers on the dragons!

I voted for the fourth option. I'll definitely give Skyrim a try in third-person, as it's supposed to be far superior to Oblivion. I'll probably end up playing first-person though, more immersive I think. ;)

First person, I find third person annoying.

1st person, as the game should be played.

The day the TES series primarily becomes a 3rd person RPG series, i'll move along. :turned:

3rd person for walking about town or other mundane activities.
1st person for combat exploration.
Hopefully 3rd person will be more viable for combat this time round.

I started to play OB in 3rd person a couple of years ago and I enjoy that more than 1st person so thats what I prefer.

I ushaly use both but in Morrowind almost exclusivly 1st person. Same with new vegas due to the horible animation in theird and the way guns were held. Besides it was a shooter anyway. In skyrim I will probobly go theird for combat and first when I am shooting.

I tend switch between both quite a lot.
I like 3rd person for walking around, so I can admire my character.. but switch to 1st person for combat or for inspecting whats in front of me better.
Much as I like 3rd person, i tried combat in that perspective in both Oblivion and Fallout games and found it a nightmare.

I think combat in Oblivion just looked alot better and more realistic in 3rd person, but it was certainly easier in 1st person. But I switch between the two alot.

I prefer first person in general, but somehow the perspective always been kinda... off. Though this is a problem with every single games with first person view in general. I've yet to see one that doesn't look like we're gazing through a rectangular window from inside a box with our arms held up close to our face :\

I'll post what I touched on in a previous thread...

It was nice to see some actual gameplay (G4 demo). I wish they showed more of the 3rd person view though. I for one prefer that view over FP. Not sure if anyone will agree or not but during the demo the FP view seemed to hinder a lot of the player character view of his immediate surroundings. The close quarters combat looked muddled and hard to see when to block and when your strikes were landing on the enemy. For example, when the PC was in the cave and fighting that human that had the sword and shield. Could anyone tell what that final blow was? the guy's head and your sword kind of went out of frame for second and then the fight was over. Seems like with the 3rd person view you see your surroundings better and can actually act/adapt to your foe's movements better. Actually see what is going on in the fight as well as seeing what other enemies are around. I know there's the argument that FP is better but to me it's like being forced to look through a viewfinder and you have no peripheral vision from right/left/up/down.

Obviously in the end beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to FP vs. 3rd.

Third person except for using ranged weapons. Running around in first person gives me motion sickness, besides you get a better field of view in 3rd.

Third person. I can never get into a game in first person, I feel like I'm playing a floating camera with a pair of hands attached instead of a person.

I jump between the two pretty much constantly. I run around in third person, and I fight in first person.
When talking to NPCs, opening doors, activating objects or chests, it could be either one.

Mostly 1st person. In some games, I have very rarely switched between 3rd and 1st.

Both regularly. Usually it's whatever I feel like playing in, though I prefer third person for combat, first person for spell-casting and marksman, either one for running, and first person when picking up objects and opening containers, etc. Both views have their advantages and disadvantages.

First-person. I go into third-person to make sure he looks good in the armor/clothing I picked out for him. No clue why, considering I never actually see his armor while I'm playing, but I like to know that he'd look cool if I were to decide to view him in third-person for whatever reason.

thats mental , but i agree :)
