What Do You think About Nehrim ?

Post » Fri Apr 22, 2011 5:42 am

Hi All

A friend of mine has recently advised me a mod called "Nehrim". It is a mod around 1.6 GB and i want to learn if it is something worth downloading or not. I watched the trailer of the mod and read a few reviews about it and it seems interesting. I also want to learn the ideas of the players who tried this mod.

Thanks

It's a really different play experience, and also very different aesthetically.

Recommended, if you want a change from Oblivion per se.

I would definitely play it. Personally I find it good for one or two play-throughs, but, yes, the first time you play it you will be astounded by some of the scenes that they created. I love the cities in Nehrim. :D

Nehrim is sweet. Play it if you like good RPGs, or games like Gothic and Risen.

Well I kept hearing references to Gothic after starting a Nehrim game, so I shelved Nehrim and played Gothic 3 and liked it very much.

Going back to Nehrim now ... I see it as an attempt to mold the oblivion game into a Gothic game.

If you want info on how to mod Nehrim or just being able to run both Nehrim and Oblivion at the same time - please read http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1159104-nehrim-and-mods-ii/ on the subject.

Yes it is worth it, but much of the game (combat especially) is very much like vanilla Oblivion. The story though is more mysterious and intriguing.

Nehrim seems to make more effort to make situations that actually require you to use your brain to solve as well. As well the Nehrim landscape is very different then Oblivion's. I admit I've only played it maby 2 hours but it was a solid expereince. I must revisit it sometime. The voice over work is all in German so you have to read the subtitles to know what they are saying (Unless of course you speak German)

I thought Nehrim was outstanding from the amount I've played. It has many outstanding scenes and quests are very well done! Definitely worth downloading and playing through!
