They weren't mentioned at all in the 5 years that followed the Great War which is what really mattered for the Redguards. The reconciliation is more important than you give credit for and possibly the best strategic victory for them as now instead of wasting lives killing each other, the Redguards could united against the Dominion. Also the general was pretty much acting against the emperors orders when he discharged some of the legionnaires. While the legion itself was certainly important, it had nothing to do with a decision made by the empire.
