What Do You Think About Vehicles In The Games To Come.

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 10:38 pm

just make it run of flamer fuel like the jet pack mod for fo3 did
Maybe the flamer fuel is too explosive to use as fuel for vehicles (then again, they did choose to use little nuclear power plants to power cars)

I think no if it means racing around a sandbox map with your whatever vehicle. If vehicles were only for, and the only means to, fast travel, then yes.

I could actually live with needing a vehicle ONLY for Fast traveling, but, say you don't want one. Then you can still fast travel, but maybe more like what Dragon Age Origins did, where like you might get stopped by a group of bandits or something.

I remember doing a series of quests in Fallout 2 that allow you to obtain and drive a car.

That unless the game world is big enough to warrant their existance then no and given that the next game isn't likely to cover anywhere near the area that Fallout 2 or Fallout: Tactics did then it's going to be very unlikely that any inclusion of vehicles will get my perosnal consent.

Well.

Map node system: Works if it's done the way it's done in Fallout 2 that it's meant to be used for safer and faster transport across the wasteland.
Sandbox map: Only works if the map is like x2.5 times the size of Fallout 3's map, otherwise it's too small.
MMO: Could definitely be the substitute for mounts.

I can see it being done, but the chances of a map node system again, a map that is such abnormal size or an MMO are not very probable.

I can sign this.
I don't need vehicles in upcoming fallout games, but I wouldn't bother if they were implented.

Considering Skyrim has mounts and vehicles (the cart you start in is physics based) the option is certainly there. As far as nodes, I think it would feel too chopped up to have F1 sized nodes in a first-person perspective, but I would enjoy a game comprised of several Mt. Zion / Point Lookout sized areas without a main wasteland.

NCR has a armed cavalry, which has vehicles, although the number and amount is unknown. As for fuel, oil can be found in places and extracted making oil refineries so it makes sense. It shouldnt be hard to implent vehicles, and it would be a great improvement for many players, fast travel is sooooo boring as [censored], so is wandering around like some idiot. TES has horses, so why not cars in fallout?

You know what the Resource Wars in the Fallout Universe were focused on right? You know why China invaded Alaska, right? Extracting oil, and having refineries doesn't make sense.

Nothing more than a bicycle or one of those army mortar cycles that runs off fission batteries or flamer fuel.

I think vehicles as player transport is kind of a bad idea, but I think factions definately need vehicles where they make sense. It's kinda boring when every army in the Fallout world is composed entirely of riflemen, vehicles would add some variation to the combat.

Exterior spacing and Level of detail would have too be totally different with vehicles..Driving is a radically different gaming medium and I would prefer Bethesda give us more of what they do so well..Exploration and discovery.

Depending on the fuel I guess, as (as far as I know) there is no 'company' getting and refining oil etc. etc. for Gasoline. There would need to be other ways for vehicles too. Do they run on batteries? How long will they last?

Again as someone has stated I would be up for it as long as it's for fast travel purposes only that you would need to feul with mfc or ec and maintain , basically I want the highwayman  but it's been destroyed :sadvaultboy: so highwayman mk2 anyone... But no laser beems and roll cages.

I think a simple bicycle would be a good start. Maybe mod it to include a suite case or a trunk hitch, slow it down with these mods. Your still vulnerable and cannot jump off when traveling.

Highwayman is a type of car. The one in Fallout 2 isn't the only Highwayman out there.

If they put it back in the game it wouldn't do so well over the roads with the way they are.

Yeah I know that, all I was doing is pointing out that a Highwayman is the name of a model of car. Some people seem to think that the Highwayman in Fallout 2 is the only one of its kind.

If they'd put the Highwayman, or just a Corvega maybe, then I bet they could make it something like http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/dic/pix/bajabug1.jpg, giving it offroad capabilites.

They should just add that, but with of course a '50s retro futuristic body.

It would be to long really, end up getting stuck going over things. Maybe if it was shortened.
