What do YOU think Crytek is doing about the PC issues???????

Post » Wed Nov 10, 2010 12:59 am

NOT A WALL OF TEXT.

...as far as fixing the game is concerned?

So we all know that SP and MP are riddled with bugs and glitches. Too many that I won't even bother to list. Not only that, but we PC gamers got a swift kick to the groin when pirates are able to access MP cost free. If that wasn't bad enough, hackers have become extremely rampant in the game....especially hacking/cheating pirates who've got nothing to lose since they can just make a new account and a fake serial if they get banned.

So what do you think Crytek is doing about all this? Yes they released two laughable anti-cheat updates that aren't really making a difference as to this day (just 30mins ago), I was playing with an infinite speed and cloak hacker.

I have a friend that thinks Crytek is doing all they can to fix the game right now. He thinks that they are not being slow, but actually trying to improve the game. He says that they are working on a patch that will prevent pirates from playing online, as well as a much much better anti cheat solution. Because the 1.02 patch went live on steam even for just a few minutes, he thinks that this is a good indication that the actual patch is at the latest a day or two away. He says that them releasing a half-assed patch now would only cause that patch to be cracked and have pirates keep playing online, making it almost worthless, since v1.01 got cracked in a few hours, if that. Basically, everything will be GREAT after the 1.02 patch...and even better with future patches.

While my friend has some valid points I have to strongly disagree.
-First off, a company knows their game is being hacked and being accessed online Multiplayer for free and wont do anything to AT LEAST stop the pirates? They are either stupid or lazy. I dont care if I have to make a new patch everyday just to prevent pirates from playing...I would definitely at least attempt to do something about it.
-Second, do I really need to stress how almost useless the latest security patches are? There are still as many hackers as before.
-Third, The fact that Crytek released a 1.02 patch for the 360 first shows that they really dont give a damn about PC gamers. Not only did they just give us cheap updates, but they provide a patch for the 360 FIRST when its the PC version which clearly needs some patching. Does the 360 have a hacker in every server? NO! Do the 360 players have connectivity issues? NO! Do the 360 players have constant resetting stats and unlocks as much as the PC version? NO! Cmon Crytek....!!
-Fourth...with all that said, Im pretty much just covering the Hacking and Pirate access to MP...I barely talked about bugs and glitches...which there are ALOT of.

All in all, I've lost a good amount of faith in Crytek. I wouldn't be surprised if the 1.02 patch gets cracked immediately and the pirates are playing again, as well as the hackers hacking the **** out the game again like there was never a patch. Based on what Crytek has shown us since launch, expect the absolute worst.

To be honest, there is nothing wrong with that. I certainly hope you are right. All im saying is that based on what Crytek has shown us since the game released, we cant be too hopeful....

I think crytek have already given up on this game and are looking to the future as any game developer who was released a game. Crysis 2 means nothing to them other then MONEY. They dont give two flying **** about there customers or they wouldnt have changed dx11 3 days after releasing crysis 2. They dont give any information because there is none to give other then status on other game. They try to make there own Anti Cheat that can be changed... lol Crytek will never see me again because I will never do business with them again. They dont know how to communicate what so ever. They lie cheat and steal. Id cut there fukin hands off just for releasing this game.

I hope some of you are fine with spending 60 bucks for this piece of crap game. If you think a "GOD" patch is going to happen I know your wisely mistaken. MAYBE an expansion that includes DX11 where people have to buy it like Crysis Warhead..... Exactly like Crysis but with Dx10 and 64 bit. so Just wait for there expansion I am sure they will charge it for 60 dollars just like Crysis 2.

The game and quite possibly the engine are incomplete. I urge you to please just be patient and wait just as I am for them to give us everything. They were pushed very hard and even the consoles have issues. EA set the release date and Crytek did the best they could with what they had. I would say be glad that it for the most part works. There have been 1 or 2 server updates so far so they are working on stuff but it may not just be something that we patch client side and it is server side instead. I know nothing of what has been in the server patches as Crytek has told nothing to my server provider Hypernia and probably hasn't told anyone what they put in them. All I know is that i dont have to babysit and restart the server every 2 hours like I did the first 2 days.

Have you ever worked with a publisher? It svcks but its true this game was pushed out the door much like Win Vista was and its suffering because of it. I think that both EA and Crytek can learn from this just as microsoft did. But most things the developer has been told to keep a lid on it by their publisher until its complete and ready to be released. World of tanks has this issue with the developers and the community but have been slightly more open but not much. This is the usual practice and it just svcks for community interaction and comment collection for constructive ideas.

Telling us that the game is incomplete would fall under these guidelines so they cant just tell us that its not finished. And I also believe that they are working on the issues we are having and also some of the other features as well but this takes time. And I for one have no problem waiting for quality features than something that is pushed out like the game itself and is very buggy. I want what it was suppose to be not the rushed version. If this means that we are waiting for features until they are ready to be released with patches then so be it but at lease it will work and not just cause more issues.

They're doing nothing. I bought this game on launch and haven't touched it since. Never buying another Crytek game again on any system.

There's been next to nothing from Crytek addressing issues other than hackers. That's BS. They're not doing anything.

Yeah, cause companies are supposed to roll out instant patches and fixes just days after the game's release!!

Just wait a lil until the problems are resolved, or play another game. Halo Reach got a new map pack recently, might want to check that out. :P

Very good points sir. I see you are more on the optimistic side. Like what I said to the other guy, I certainly hope you are right. I wish Crytek would just communicate more with us AT LEAST. I mean, are they even aware of all the bugs and glitches present? You can assume yes or no...but because they dont communicate as much as they should, we wont ever know until specific issues get fixed/resolved.

It would be great if they can give us frequent news updates on what it is they're doing about all the issues...

Yeah FPS's are suppose to roll out fast patches and fixes. This isnt a MMO. Future updates WILL NOT EXIST. What you get the first 2 months after release IS IT. Nothing more nothing less. I DO NOT SEE ANYTHING MAJOR FIXED. I bet my crysis 2 copy on it lol. What is going to happen is a big post by Tom-Cry saying that they are going to release an expansion to crysis 2 that will include the editor, 64 bit and dx10 and dx11. But that will be in 8 months from now. Good luck then.

I am thinking along the same lines. They could have released the patch the xbox360 got but chose not to for some reason. I bet the patch probably broke something else.

Thing is if Crytec do release a dx11 version that somehow blows the graphics of crysis 1 away, a lot of people would become happy again. Or at least throw pc users a bone and release a sdk. From what I have been reading on modding sites, even the modders have started to lose interest and loyality to crytec.

Still I am giving them the benifit of the dought. Reason being they released farcry, crysis and warhead. 3 Great games and one not so great(crysis2).

Crytek may be working their asses off like blue assed flies or sunning it up in the Maldives, the point is unless they communicate properly how the hell do you know?

To their credit they have generated updates on a 24hr basis, but they still haven't actually said anything meaningful for almost 2weeks!

Did patch 1.2 get pulled? is there a patch in the testing cycle? what actually are Crytek going to commit to regarding uplifting the PC verson graphics? updates on either a CE3 sandbox edititor or SDK? which bugs are they actively looking to address in a patch? why are they ignoring the whole DX11 issue? 64bit version?

If you want people to be patient, give them something to build confidence that you will deliver.

LOL I never said such a thing. When a company releases such a broken and incomplete game on a possibly broken and incomplete engine where nearly everyone playing the game is reporting severe bugs and other issues, the company should at the VERY LEAST acknowledge the issues and say they're working to fix them.

That has not happened with Crytek. Therefore I can't conclude anything other than that nothing at all is being done to fix any of the issues other than the hackers - as that was the only official statement that was made regarding any of the problems.

To anyone who knows something about programing. Is it easy to fix and find bugs? Do the fixes we implement cause more bugs than before? Its a process of comparison and anolyzing that may never stop. It comes down to the want to provide us with something that works and fixes more than it breaks at the moment. This process would have continued if they were allowed to finish their development. This is what we have to deal with and I will ask this. Do you want a patch that fixes issues or one that causes more problems while fixing a few?

I feel we should get an update from Cry-Adam regarding the bug status

Examples:
Multiplayer Stats not tracking/resetting [Identified and fixed - available next patch]
"Login data not correct" - Potential fix, please advise [Identified and fixed - available next patch]
Crysis 2 Multi GPU support causes insane flickering. [Identified - Further testing in progress]
Nano Catalyst Resetting [Unknown - Further testing in progress]

At least we would know what issues have been replicated by Crytek and a resolution is coming soon and what ones they have yet to replicated and further testing is required.

I think that will give players some peace of mind if they can see some progress from Crytek and a patch is in progress instead of counting their profits and staying silent.

Nothing at all. MP is boring now due to no mods or new maps. Servers svck. I was expecting like "24/7 Skyline IA" type servers. But I get a server with slightly changed game style. They better hurry up with mods/DX11 and a way to get rid of these hackers. If Crysis blames the PC Community for pirates getting into MP, it's their own fault. Crytek, just get rid of MP for now and switch it over to Steamworks. Seriously.

Their working their **** asses off. Actually go look at the console boards, console gamers are having problems too but Crytek has had Cry-Tom and Cry-Adam talk to the PC community the most. They really are working hard to get all the issues on PC fixed and to get DX11 out, THAT'S WHY I still support them. It's not their fault the game released unfinished, it's EA's with their stupid release date.

As for Anti-Cheat, idk bout you man, but at least for ME, it's working. Like seriously, instead of 1 hacker in every 3 servers, it's like 1 hacker in every 20 servers, and that's in the first stages of this anticheat. The anti-cheat isn't even done yet lol.

And Crytek cares WAYYYY more than you, me, or any other PC gamer that pirates are playing their game online. Stop scolding Crytek that this is happening, it's not like they WANT the pirates to play online. They **** care a **** load because to them, it's a big deal and they want to make sure these stupid pirates can't play online.
