Gamers are gamers. The fact that you're making the distinction between female and male gamers might be why you don't know any.
I have lived with one for 13 years. Her username on these forums is Brash and she has been gaming longer than I have. In addition to gaming she is also a well-respected modder in the Elder Scrolls modding community. In addition to her other accomplishments she created the first texture pack for an Elder Scrolls game (Fantasy Color Morrowind) and one of the first total conversions (Morrowind4Kids). We actually met here on this board, in the Morrowind Mods forum.
That's not all. She has four daughters and all of them are hard-core gamers as well. All four play roleplaying games almost exclusively and they all especially love Elder Scrolls games, which is not surprising, given that their mother practically raised them in Morrowind. One of them met her husband through gaming (Final Fantasy XI: Online). They live in Canada now and they have recently been playing a lot of Fallout 4.
My experience is the opposite of yours: I know more female gamers than male gamers. What do I think of female gamers? I think they are the coolest people on planet earth.
I only know one: my wife, and she didn't last long, got overwhelmed very quickly in Oblivion. Too much freedom for her and too little time to play, she prefers more concentrated and linear stories, preferably point&click. So no, I don't know any women that play TES except the forum members here.
Trying to get the missus into TES but she doesn't like the 360 controller. She does enjoy FO4 on my PS4, so I think when SSE comes out, I will finally have her hooked! Outside of that, she is a huge Zelda nut and enjoys a bunch of other games from our childhoods. Gamers are just gamers. Male or female doesn't matter, personality and preference does.
My Bethesd'o'meter can't detect any TES or Fallout player (male or female) in a veeery long radius.
My wife is a gamer. Not really Sony and Microsoft though, she likes Nintendo stuff like Mario and Animal Crossing. My daughter is a shooter, mainly Call of Duty. She looks at me playing Fallout and will say "booooorrrriiiiiiiiing!"

How does that make them a feminist? They're correct in the fact that gaming has nothing to do with gender/race/creed. It's just a matter of whether or not said person enjoys playing video games or does something else with their spare time.
I know one from church who's a Zelda nerd, bringing the grand total to two. I think she's cool. The other, my cousin, turned me into a gamer. I still say she's the best snes gamer of all my acquaintances.
I know plenty of female gamers of all ages. Most of them play handheld games when they have time to kill (Vita or Nintendo) but two are also more "hardcoe" gamers.
I've made the mistake to believe if I see a girl playing Candy Crush or Talking Tom on her phone, she must be a gamer. So I asked what other games she likes, if she has a gaming pc or a console and she was like... what? Dude, Candy Crush and Talking Tom, duh. Lesson learned. Unless I see one wearing a Skyrim T-shirt or something, I won't bring up such a niche subject.
If Bethesda wants to attract more females they should make more "womanesque" features in their rpg like cloth physics, wearing every armor they like not transform in a robe, ect. More women prefer Dragon Age and Witcher 3 for a reason, Bethesda is too male'sque, even the Altmer women look like men.
Also, the music is always composed by a man, to hire a woman composer would very likely translate into the atmosphere of the game.
No such thing as Girl Gamers.
There are only Gamers.
I play with a couple of Girls in ESO, they are just like you or me.
My thoughts, too.
I was married to a woman who played video games, though I'd stop short of calling her a "gamer." She was not as "serious" as I usually classify "gamers." We actually spent the late 80's early 90's playing through Legend of Zelda and Crytsalis (NES) multiple times
Since then, I've met many women gamers. Their interests and personalities range as far as male gamers, with the same range of passion for video games. The only difference I've found is that female gamers are nicer to look at, or watch playing
Lol! Stigma against gamers, still strong in 2016, eh?
Nah, Jeremy Soule will do just fine
Perhaps there is a female gamer...living in your house!
Anyway, as the others said. Being a gamer has nothing to do with gender.
There is no proof that female gamers exist. Hell, https://youtu.be/CjRfkiMrR8M?t=29
While both of my sisters don't play as much as in the past, they used to play quite a lot back in the day (like, since our early childhood to late teens), we also often played all kinds of split-screen, local co-op and hot-seat games when those were still plenty on PCs. They enjoyed TES a lot, too.
So while I heard all that "girls don't/can't play games", I witnessed contradiction of this very phrase, pretty much daily, over many years. It wasn't about being against the trends or to gain attention or something to be proud about, they just... played games. Form of entertainment, simple as that.
