I seem to be the minority when I say I hope the Call of Duty series keeps going. I'm sure a lot of you don't enjoy the games, as I an see from this thread, but I'm a huge fan. Not because of the multi-player (Although I will play it from time to time. Haven't played it much since the first Modern Warfare, which was an amazing multi-player) but because I enjoy the single-player. I love the pointless violence with outrageous storylines. It's good fun to shoot up the baddies and flex my giant American (Or British, as the case may be.) muscles and yell 'PHWOOOSH!'.
Regardless of how the case goes, I'd be a very sad panda if I didn't get to play another Call of Duty game. :sadvaultboy:
Actually I kinda like the CoD. For fast paced gunning its a good game. What bothers me about it is not the game but the way it is dealt with. Take CoD:BO for example. First they said they werent gonna charge for $15 for dlc likke mw2 did. and yet they did it. then they frikin give exclusive rights to microsoft for extra $$ and screw over ps3 players by making them wait a whole month longer. These are the things that bother me. And to add insult to injury, even after they did these stunts they still broke the record sales.
Infinity Ward still exists and they are currently working on MW3 with help from Treyarch and Sledgehammer. This lawsuit will do nothing to the CoD franchise and is purely for unpaid royalties.
In total, Activision has 5 of its development studios working solely on Call of Duty games. CoD isn't going anywhere.
A lot of people from IW left due to the lawsuit. But I dnt think that will be enough to destroy CoD franchise because lets face it, people dont buy CoD depending on who developed it. They just buy it because it says "Call of Duty" in the cover. Hell, look at black ops. IW didnt make the game and look at its crazy success. And im sure that when the time is right, Activision will create a different branch of call of duty games but still have CoD on it
