I like it. But I can't stand the extremely short draw distance and the horrible textures...

I play on PC

Best RPG I've ever played. The story and immersion is second to none. I like the leveling system....no stupid attriubutes to make yourself OP, if you want to be good at something, do it and you'll get better at it.

The trees, weather, snow etc. Look nice. Cities look great. Caves etc. also surprise me. What also surprises me is that alot of ground textures look untouched, like they didn't add grass or a pattern to it, thus affecting draw distance and making it ugly. It's more apparent when inside the city, but is present in open-land as well. Otherwise the sky, mountains etc. look great for draw distance. Basically I agree with you and I'm on the 360. It's not so much that the graphics aren't 'perfect' (I don't need them to be Crysis levels) but I'm confused as to why textures are missing.

With that said though, I wish they'd remake Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion with this engine, because it will look beautiful as hell...Morrowind remastered mod using Oblivion's engine looks better than OB itself because of the setting/lighting...imagine Morrowind in Creation engine....wowah.

Skyrim>any RPG I've played though. Sure I've played decent titles like Witcher but I'm talking about OVERALL it's the best RPG out there. Morrowind is an honorary mention I guess.

From my experience, it's usually the X-Box and Palystation that whine the most about technical problems, but I'm talking form New Vegas experience.

I play PC, Ultra high Graphics, no lag, no bugs. Works flawlessly. Love the game to death.

It's hard to compare it to Oblivion and Morrowind, both were good games. Skyrim is such an improvement in so many ways, but in others it's clearly a step or leap in the wrong direction.

Hey man, my first post :intergalactic: planetary :hubbahubba:

but anyway, YEAH, greatest of all time of course. There's no other option. I've loved RPG's for years and they're only now really getting great.

i do have a problem though, or an irritation rather. My aspiring lord of darkness has a quiver on his back and i just want to get rid of the bugger. Dropped all arrows and bows before you ask.

Where's the problem/bug section. i cant see it right now :banghead:

Beth's going to patch up this game completely come post-Christmas time. So if the game's great now, just wait until the patch, should be great. As i'm saying this, I've already witnessed more bugs in Skyrim than I ever had in Oblivion. That's fine, it's a big game, but they also waited to fix it up in December so it's all worth the wait. Plus, it's not over yet for those who say it's 'lacking' because I bet you the expansions will be amazing if it's anything like Tribunal or Shivering Isles..

So prob just a little bug then. Will be very happy if i see that quiver disappear after an update sometime.

Cheers, and enjoy the game! :celebration:

1st thing..

I play on both PC and Ps3..

Both versions are just as good. PC needs a little tweaking and some patches but overall very goood.

2nd: being a long time FPS player and almost exclusive to that Genre this is the first RPG i have played that has totally captured my attention. The world is massive and the "feel" of the game is completely immersive. I can impart my own personality into the game instead of feeling like im playing a character, It feels more like i can be the character instead. The Variety it gives is amazing, the interaction with the world is superb and the quests are interesting.

Overall the game is more then i personally expected, and after a little massaging by the devs and a patch or 2 the game is only going to get better.

I don't want to derail this thread or anything ;), and thank you all for the answers but I have one major concern...I don't know how to keep track of my gameplay? In Oblivion and I think Morrowind, they had the playtime in the save file. It was very convenient. Just to keep track. I'm not sure how many hours I put in, but I'm curious if I'll pass 600 hours that Todd promised with the pace that I'm going at, or if there's less content than 600 hours or...you get the point.

So does anyone know where to see the playthrough time? I checked my 360 saves in memory settings and there you get to see all your individual save files for each game. It actually has a set of numbers next to each one, but they don't list the 'time' as I would expect it (for example an old save file will say 028.12.10 in my 360 memory settings...is that a random number or does it stand for 28 hours basically?)

Loving it so far. 61 hours and very much immersed in it.
I can honestly say it`s taken over from Daggerfall being my favourite RPG so far :tes:

Just curious, how do you know exactly that you spent 61 hours in the game? I'd like to know where it says. They kept track of it in Oblivion but I can't find any playtime in Skyrim being tracked.

I think that Skyrim has an incredible, immersive world full of interesting quests and things to do, but is overshadowed by its horrible interfaces and game mechanics. Whoever thought that making casters pause the game every .5 seconds and scroll through a huge menu of "favorites" just to function should be fired. I bought the game for computer for a reason. everything other than combat is pretty fun though.

Check out your save game, when you go to load your latest save it tells you how many hours played :)

I like it a lot, it's awesome, but I would have bought it for console if I had known beforehand that Bethesda have given up on the PC gamers who got them where they are.
