As in the title.

It's a big, mean looking sword that shoots red stuff when you swing it real hard. What's not to like?

I think it is an interesting option for those that use two-hands and the fact that the sword shoots red magic/energy/whatever you want to call it makes you feel more powerful and intimidating while using it

Pretty much this. A way to boost the energy blasts would have been nice.

Not one of my favourites, but it's a proof that there's room for creative enchantments. :P

Given that most of my playthough's drift toward people using two-handed weapons, the Bloodskaal blade is awesome. It doesn't quite have the punch that the higher end weapons have, but man is it awesome using it.

And yet I still have an issue choosing between in and the Stormblade in Morrowind. Sentimental attachment and all that.

It is a truly unique weapon in the game and i like it...cant really find a good character to use it however. Maybe if i had an evil Nord or something...

Pretty awesome. Although the ranged magic attack doesn't do huge damage, it adds a huge stagger effect to all power attacks that damages multiple enemies. If you do a killing blow with a power attack, enemies will be shot away as if they were killed with a lightning spell. It is worth it for two-handed characters.

I love it. When my two-handed warrior didn't have Dragonrend yet, this sword was great for fighting dragons without having to use ranged weapons.

Kinda wish there was a killcam for finishing an enemy with a energy wave.

What's evil about the sword?

Would have been waaay better if the enchanment would go up with smithing the sword then it would have been a main weapon for me.

I very much like it for it's unique look and enchantment and that it doesn't require soul gems to recharge.

"lol Look, I'm Link!" *shoots sword beams*

Seriously, though, it's neat but I never really had a character use it.

I thought it was a pretty cool sword. I wish they had that feature with other one handed swords that shoot energy long distance. Be cool to use against dragons and other enemies.

Yeah, I really wish they would have made it for more than just two handed. I only had a single character to ever actually use the Bloodskal blade due to the fact it's two-handed and me almost never making two-handed characters.
