What do you think the development cycle was like?

I'm excited for this game and it looks like a lot of good work has gone into it. But seeing as Crysis 2 came out just last March I wonder when this game went into production? I'm going to go and say right after they finished Crysis 2. As soon as it was revealed we got screens, CGI renders in magazines and even fully realised box art and pre-order bonuses.

Ultimately I don't want this to be a rush job for the sake of a sequel or money or whatever other bad reason there could be. There needs to be good changes especially on the MP side of things. With the game being in such a seemingly advanced state in development I don't want to play it and feel like things have been copied right from Crysis 2 into Crysis 3 when they could have been improved or changed.

WHen they made crysis 2 they had to work from scratch and create a new engine in the process. For crysis 3 they already have a engine, nanosuit models, textures, Flowgraphs for the suit, AI. Still theyll optimize and tweak it but its not like theyre working from scratch so the development time can be shorter.

Think of this as a example. Would the COD studios be able to poop out a new game every 2 years if they had to develop a Engine to? Dont think so...
