What do you think should be ignored?

The writs from the Morag Tong on characters like Dram Bero, Baladas Demnevanni and Larrius Varo. I don't want them killed.

The new books that have come out. Honestly, I absolutely hated the Argonian invasion of Morrowind and how they handled the situation in Morrowind. The Red Year was inevitable, but the books were just too much, :yuck:

The Tribunal main-quest.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the story. I just really liked the Almalexia (okay, so she was completely off her rocker, but I still liked her) and I wanted to talk to Sotha-Sil. He seemed like a fun guy.
I think Tamriel would be better off if they were all still living.

I would get rid of the rumor that Vivec was taken by the daedra. I know think its false but people believe it. Know Love.

Mannimarco in Oblivion. Or at least have it retconned to state he was merely the mortal aspect of Mannimarco left over after the Warp in the West, and that the God of Worms still lives on.

I'd also like to say I disagree with everyone else in this thread so far and would keep all of those things.

And I would also like to erase my non-lore-related experiences on this forum.

That quest made me stop playing for over a year. Sickening.

Though it doesn't need to be retconned, just clarified; Mannimarco in OB was a random necromancer. He was not a Lich (The Warp in the West would have had no effect on the KoW's lichdom). Without the God of Worms, you can't have black soulgems, so that part of the Warp must have occurred.

The other interesting bit is when you consider the canon at the end of Oblivion. Is it assumed all guild storylines occurred? Obviously the CoC could not have been the leader of all guilds simultaneously; it stands to reason that either the quests were completed by unknown individuals, or they are not canon at all.

The more I think the more 'changes' I would love to see disappear heh, though some shall remain nameless given the hell storm of arguments that seem to follow.

Baar Dau.

When I learned Vvardenfell was going to be destroyed by Red Mountain because Baar Dau fell I had my Nerevarine
cast God's Frost a lot at the volcano crater and built a pillow support under the moonlet.

I agree with you there. The thing with the novels etc is you can easily not read them or ignore them if you wish. Mannimarco is there in game. At least there are mods to help with this. I like the idea of it being an avatar but the guy in Oblivion doesn't even fill those shoes to me. The lead up to him was so nice and he was such a disappointment.

The fact that the Hero of the Oblivion Crisis and most likely the Arena Grand-Champion, Grand-Master of the Fighter's Guild, Arch-Mage, Gray Fox, and/or Listener also becomes the 2nd Divine Crusader and even the God of Madness. I mean... really?

I'd change Mannimarco in Oblivion.

Red Year is one of the things I'd keep. I'm interested in seeing where the story of the Dunmer will go in Skyrim. I won't complain about it until the story about them is finished.

I think that the game assumes that someone else did each of those questlines - The scrolls just say Someone did all that, not who, and not even neccessarily the same person. Heck, from a Lore standpoint, the person who killed Mankar Camoran may not have been the same person to bring Jauffre the amulet, nor the same person to escort Martin to The Temple of the One. There's a reason the main character of Oblivion is never directly acknowledged in written sources.

Elemental magic is lame, so I'd erase that. I'd erase the Mages Guild. The Necromancer conflict goes poof, as well. The Fighters Guild would be stricken from record. I'd resurrect the Syffim, as a Tsaesci inter-pol. The Illiac's kings and lords would give way to CEOs and administrative boards, where the only topics are previous meetings and the next. Like how this forum repeats itself so much...

How about we just go back to the drawing board? I liked Michael Kirkbride's and Kurt Kuhlmann's idea for Ur, more than TES. Jupiter and his moons are so much more exciting.

I'd rather have both, kthx.

Things to erase from lore... hm... Oblivion's design of Cyrodiil.

This mainly.

The sudden hatred of necromancy in the mages guild.

The Levitation Act of 421
