What do you want most in your Collector's edition! (# 2)

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 3:58 am

Ok , this time I did not have A what do you Not like .. as for you can see what ppl did not want. for those whom want too now how can we see the top 4. add the votes of ea 1s and devide by 4 and that will give you the % for the 1s .. and do for ea .... or you could just eye ball it like the rest of us.

As for ppl wanting CDs & DVDs .. at this point in tech .. they are useless, you can copy from the USB drive and make your own CD / DVD. Hell you can get the sound track from the MP3 Files in the game.

Also for #8 the Skyrim Symbol / Logo looks like this http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2011/01/skyrim.jpg (thx Alithinos I added your ideas & link to the poll )

Also added that the Mini-Glass Glaymore would probably have too be rubber / non-deadly ( maybe not .. Bethesda is not stabbing anyone )

As more info and/or Ideas come out I will make new polls .. I really want Bethesda too get us what we want.

mmm yeah I'm with you
* It could be nice to have either the pewter figurine, the Necklace or the Mini Verson of an Glass Claymore all in a strikingly metal box :)
* the USB
* the very large detailed cloth map of Skyrim. 2' x 2' +
and last but not least
* In game Items, exclusive too Collector's Edition
THAT is my point of view the CE :/ hope we can get something like that :)

Defiantly gotta go for the necklace as a first thing. Artwork books and other lore things come closely behind.

I shan't lie, I can't help but feel that cloth maps are overrated by the community. Give me a sixy tin case first any day.

Edit: CDs are way cheaper than memory sticks. Why do you think games still come on discs?

Edit 2: if there is exclusive content for the CE I will rage on behalf of the people getting the regular edition and perhaps boycott it if the rest of the CE stuff is meh. It's shady business practice that can't be done without either removing content from the game to be "exclusive" or diverting resources from the standard game to create it in the first place. People who are buying the normal game are doing just that: buying the game. They should get the full package. CEs should sell on merchandise like Oblivion's did.

I'm keen on art books, so my no.1 choice is the book. :read: I would add a lore book that explains all what happened in the previous games.

Just the games? More like everything that's happened in the TES universe up until this point! A dissertation on Nirn's timeline from Lorkhan himself.

A little figurine to sit on my desk- looks cool to anyone who doesn't know what it is, a proud signal to anyone who does :)
I don't have a games room or anything as such so a cloth map of skyrim is useless to me. Don't mind a poster I could stick somewhere else though - the difference being a poster looks better and a cloth map'd probs get lost or torn or broken or...
mini glass claymore letter opener? Unless thats flimsy plastic- there won't be the extra money to manufacture those
Tin cases are just loud and annoying
In game content should strictly be in the game already, but I'm happy for, say, a nameable peice of armour or a nameable weapon (If anyone saw my bloodlines thread - its to help me roleplay that :P

I WANT ALL OF IT.

Collector's edition should include:
Massive book of skyrim art (signed)
A guide to the dragon script
Lore book (maps, history, events, artifacts, etc. etc.) like pocket guide to the emperor, but not so pocket-sized
A keyring/necklace of the dragon symbol (would go nicely with my Horde keyring ;p)
Big detailed map of skyrim, made of cloth or something
A few in game items
A figurine or something of a dragon
CD including making of documentary, mp3s of all the music and interviews.
a super special cool case.
a detailed septim coin (like oblivion)

i don't care how much this costs us, make it the best colelctor's edition ever!!!

Maps, many maps! At least a large, high-quality map of Skyrim! As a guy + geography teacher (/student) I love maps!

Second: the making of material, not on USB but a DVD would be fine. It's really fascinating to learn about that, the things they show to GI are already very nice! For, example, the role of concept art in their production process.

That brings me to my third point: A book with artwork! I love TES artwork, don't need to explain that I guess!

Fourth: An ingame item. Something I can put on my desk, or in my room, that reminds me of TES. The Septim coin was a good idea already (don't have it unfortunately), but I'm sure there's plenty of more items. I prefer items from ordinary life on Tamriel, I don't want unique items.

Fallout 3 had an amazing Collector's Edition - 2 of them in fact! First, there was the regular version and then there was the ultra-amazing "Survival Edition" pictured here: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2008/06/fallout-3-survival-edition.jpg

Just because of the time and care that went into the Fallout 3 Collector's Editions, I would hope that BGS will go even further than that for their flagship series next installment - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

I think the Skyrim Collector's Edition should be something like this:

1). Very elaborate packaging, something like a Black and Silver treasure chest that holds all the items. It should be covered in Dragonic Runes that we can translate to see what they mean. Imagine this image in Black and Silver: http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q99/blackspider2331/treasurechest.jpg

2). The complete soundtrack to the game.

3). A Dragon-Tooth necklace that comes in a Black, felt bag.

4). A cloth map of Skyrim.

5). A leather-ish bound book regarding Dragons, detailing each one and that has the complete Dragonic Alphabet and a translation section at the back.

6). "Making of" DVD.

7). Pewter Alduin Figurine

8). Art Book

Some things I'd like to get in the collector's edition:
  • Soundtrack on CD
  • A fancy cover for the game disc, metal or leather.
  • Book of artwork
  • A map (more fancy than the regular one)
  • Dragon language translation book

I'm not a big fan of exclusive in-game items.

More than anything I hope it's numbered, like the Fallout New Vegas Collectors edition. This way at least they hold the value and are actually 'collectable'.

Perhaps run off 10,000 per Country etc.

In terms of content, I think a map is a given, probably even in the standard edition. Therefore, I think maybe something to do with the new dragon claw language. Maybe some rune stones etc with the different symbols on.

In game additional content is fine by me, but it needs to be pretty minor. Maybe a suite of armour...
