What do you want to see at E3?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:29 am

I hope it's a playable demo at E3, so we can see actual people playing it.

Pete already confirmed that Bethesdas booth at E3 will be "closed off" and "by appointment only". So that means they will probably have someone at Bethesda demo the game behind closed doors to select members of the media such as IGN and Gamespot. Then we'll get online articles describing what was shown.

well in that case, I want to see someone playing a dragon fight on-stage during the main Microsoft Presentation. I want to see it in action.

I think we all have our skepticism of the trailer's dragon fight. It'd be cool to actually see the fight being played. I hope it's a playable demo at E3, so we can see actual people playing it.

It's not that I don't believe it was real gameplay, it's just that I want to see it being played with my own eyes like that so I don't get my hopes up for some massive feature that doesn't actually happen that way, if that makes any sense at all. My fear is that it was part of gameplay, but was a cinematic/scripted finishing move, which I hate, rather than something that could happen as a part of real-time combat when I am still in control of my character (which given current technology would be quite simply astonishing). I just want to know what the score is on that beforehand - I will still buy and love the game regardless, but it is something that could turn out to be a complete let-down and lead to false expectations if it's not happening in real-time and that isn't made clear in advance of release.

I definitely want to see character generation. Because with that we see a glimpse of what the normal UI will look like and hopefully all the races and genders, in addition to actual chargen info.

ah yes. It would be so nice to see a Dunmer open his mouth, and have the same raspy voice we loved in Morrowind come out.

Or hear the beast races... Definitely something i want to see.

Problem is that wouldn't be "closed booth" and "by appointment only" now would it?

oh, i didn't know you meant they weren't gonna release ANYTHING publicly. I imagined they would at LEAST have a presentation.

that's a real bummer.

EDIT: you just said the bethesda booth. That doesn't necessarily mean they won't do a public presentation during the big microsoft show-case

Pete was asked if Skyrim would be at E3 and his response was "closed booth and by appointment only if you catch my drift."

It won't be at Microsoft's press conference and Sony has a conference too BTW. As does Nintendo (I know Skyrim isn't for the Wii but I'm just making a point that Microsoft isn't the only company with a press conference).

Well presumably the people with invites to the closed booth will be part of the gaming media and it will get reported upon (hopefully not just in US gaming mags though *scowls*), so it's not like we're not going to hear any reports about it.

Yea we'll definitely get online impressions from IGN, Gamespot, Game Informer, etc. It just won't be demoed live on stage or anything like that.

Too many options, I wanted to vote for everything!

However, I voted for Stealth System, Levitation (srsly how can anyone say they DON'T want to see this) and Crossbows. I love my stealth bow kills <3 So efficient.

Honestly, at this point almost any info is welcome info. I most want to see the combat system in action (with some magic and stealth in there) as well as some of the cities and most if not all the races. I most want to hear about the new systems (Radiant Story, new AI, new interface) and more on the state of Skyrim and the Empire at the start of the game. Oh, and some other armor and weapon would be nice.

Also, Stealth Bow has been my personal favorite ever since I 'discovered' it in my 3rd play through Morrowind. Before that I hand always gravitated to Tank-style warrior or DPS Mage in RPGs. Here's hoping it's still a viable- if not even better- option. :tops:

Yeah i'm aware, but since the two biggest groups of consumers for ES comes from both PC and Xbox, i doubt Bethesda would showcase skyrim (if they did) at the sony conference.

I don't want to see a dragon fight. Let the players experience them for themselves.

What I want to see is Todd Howard demoing the game and blowing everyone away like Fallout 3.

Seeing the new combat system, improvements to radiant AI, radiant story, or just the overall impressive feats of the Creative Engine would be great in my book.

I want to see how the city is. I'd prefer a few more characters walking around.

I want mounted combat, and maybe new guilds.

I just want to see proper gameplay, so I can get a feel for the game.

Building on that, I'd like to have an actual equipped items page.

To be honest i don't want to see to much content until i go in the game myself and see it (For anti-spoiler purposes).

But anyways im going to just vote for what i really want to see when i buy Skyrim, which is the landscapes, terrains, etc. The first thing i do in a TES game is explore, i love the scenery because in oblivion i think has the most beautiful scenery in any game series i've played. I'm expecting Skyrims to be better because of the new graphics system.

What i want to see confirmed are some new guilds, spears, and levitation.

I guess that's true. But it's gonna be a bummer if it's nothing like their making it seem to be.
