What do you want to see in the Wasteland Workshop DLC?

Post » Thu Mar 03, 2016 12:28 pm

With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more! - Bethesda.

Because Bethesda said that they want input by the fans let's tell them what we want to see!

To me the most exciting thing about this is the new design options for our settlements so I'll focus on that, but feel free to talk about taming Deathclaws and what not.

I'd like to be able to build outhouses, shop stations that fit onto the counters that are already in-game, higher output generators, posters like to ones found in Diamond City, working junky sinks, ammo crafting workbench, Vertiberd landing sites, metal walls with windows, blinds, and if we're going to have a coliseum lets have a shop counter for it.

BTW what are letter kits?

Brick walls & walls with windows in them, sick of building shanty towns & steel bunkers.

The ability to break with the Minutemen, spark a civil war, and create your own faction. What good is Supermutant blood bags and raider bodies on spits settlement items along with thunder dome style death matches if your still all "General, there's another settlement that needs our help".

I'd also like to see a lot more settlement management. More jobs, more needs, more abilities to set policy. I really love the idea of governing a post apocalyptic settlement. I'd love to feel more like a governor and leader and less the guy that shows up and slaps some beds down and then leaves.

Ability to give settlers names, just like we can name weapons.

Ability to take any settler as a traveling companion. No backstory, maybe three personality settings that affect their banter and what they say.

Ability to group settlers together under a SoG or something, then assign that Sergeant missions like raid, patrol, or relief. It would make more sense as a leader to dispatch reinforcements to a settlement under attack than going yourself.

Certainly it should include more buildables, but I'd really like to see more focus on administering, planning, strategy, and diplomacy to the settlement side of the game.

You don't have to rescue Preston if you don't want to you know.

I agree that it'd be cool to name settlers, and your idea about administering, planning, strategy, and diplomacy to the settlement side of the game sounds excellent.

I'd also like to be able to mark what building in a settlement is mine and that settlers should stay out.

I'd rather see it not exist tbh. Though since I have no control over that, I want weapon racks.

A M-2 .50 cal machine gun that you can man.

More non-combatty activities we can add to the settlements, mini-games like chess, checkers (even Assassin's Creed has that at their settlements), card games like Caravan, Blast Radius board game, etc.,

EVERYTHING! Much like Hearthfire is the DLC that I most enjoyed and looked forward to, Workshop is the one that I'm looking forward too the most. :P

I want to see more on the taming aspects, unless I'm reading it wrong you can tame an enemy or have them fight in the arena. Which, I'm assuming means having them as a follower if you tame them giving us more RP options for those, like myself, that don't RP the main story. I already used the Settlements to aid my RP(I turned the Airport into an Inn for example)

So I want, more non-combat activities like Capt put. The ability to intersect items will also be nice! And tons of more customization options.

I want to be able to place bets on said fights.

I want to be able to capture you animals and raise them and watch them grow, so for example get a mirelurk hatchling and watch it grow into a softshell and eventually a mirelurk king or queen.

I want to be able to customize the inside the arena and build mazes inside the arena.

I want to be able to build teams and pin them against each other.

I want to be able to add traps to the arena cages.

I want more creatures added to the game!

I want more but I'm tired of typing lol

I want to use tamed creatures as guard dogs at my settlement, and even tamed raiders as settlers.

I want those concrete building prefabs shown in the promo screenshot - they look amazing for vertical builds, and way less shanty-towny without looking out of place in the wasteland.

More wall-mounted lights. And a bunch of colored lights.

I will admit this is the strangest dlc combo. Since it does in fact exist, I would like to see more moddable clothing added for ballistic weave. That would be nice.

oh god this

i'm sick of those holed walls and roofs

we should be able to make better buildings, making possible to use concrete for walls and at least better roofs.

it can keep to older versions, more rustic, but we should be able to make better things...

if the brotherhood of steel could build omething loike the prydween, i believe somethin like a stone house is possible

More design options, white stone walls , nice looking roofs, posters, statues etc. But this is too obvious.

Not so obvious things.

I want more jobs for settlers. I really don`t need so much food and it seems that scavenging stations work in a weird way, either bugged or have a limit.

I`d like to be able to get more different settlers (children, supermutants, ex gunners, ex rairers, etc).

Just in general I want settlers to be more alive, In some settlements they act almost like walking dead.

I saw a mod that allows you to assign settlers to workbenches, and mod that alows you to create invisible idle animation rugs , so settlers can randomly show some animations (sweeping the floor, sitting on the ground, painting a wall etc. ). But I`d like something like this to be added by dlc. So they really have more jobs, not just look like they do something else. There could be a barber, and a repairman (who could repair your PA instead of just pretending he does) .They do not even need to add new animation for it, the game already has it).

And to be able to plant flowers, tarberry and some trees.

I want so much things..I think i should stop here, it`s enough for one post xD

The trapping a creature/raider thing, how will this work? as in, where do you think we will build these traps? Im guessing certain areas of the game you can build these traps, like in a more open area. And im wondering how we will get to bring these to our settlements? Or to our arenas? Which brings another question, with all the settlement places on Fallout, the 'fences' that close off some of the game would be 'opened up' to build these arenas maybe?

Oh oh oh, and will the combat zone now have a bigger input in the game?

I would love to be in the arena to watch those fights, betting, and putting Cait in the middle of it all.

I cant wait for this DLC.

I think we'll throw a vertibird grenade and that will drop our trap off in the wastes.

I want to know about the combat zone too!

- something where I can put my weapons and armors on in an orderly fashion (just like in Skyrim)

- ability to build the Institute stuff if you finished the MQ with them (Homemaker has it, but I wish Beth added something as well)

- change the settlement attacks so that high Defense results in settlers beating up the attackers by themselves

- have some interaction with my Minutemen

- ability to send Synths to my settlements if I'm on good terms with the Institute (when I want Gen2 Synths to protect my settlements)

- be able to build a town hall and barracks, for RP purposes

- have some random once-in-a-game quests (like a crime happens and the Sole Survivor has to be the judge)

- more prefabs

Wasteland workshop is going to be too EASY!! It should take at least 400+ real hours of gameplay to build an arena like the one in the promo. Someone needs to make a poll so we can show Bethesda how much more important my opinion is than everyone else'.

Wait a second...I'm an advlt and I can recognize and accept it when something is made to appeal to people unlike myself. Forget what I said above; hopefully wasteland workshop is full of awesome goodies for those of you who are into settlement building. I'll just be over here enjoying survival mode. ;)

For their PR department to stop using CBBE or Better Males for their in-game movies and poster art, and then giving us a scaled back vanilla character when the content is released. ie - check out the Wasteanad Workshop poster. Lies.
