What do you want the next expansion to be?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 10:29 am

Not a return of the snow elves, a single throwback "king" who leads the falmer to rise up. For centuries, there's always been ONE throwback who has ruled the entire falmer race. They've kept the dwarves sequestered in a deep recess. When the current king learns of the recent incursions into his realm (particularly Blackreach) by the people of Skyrim, he turns his attention to the surface. By taking on this second front, he's weakened himself against the dwarves. The dwarves have lived off of the technology of their forebears. They can repair some of their works, but they've lost the knowledge to build or innovate. Mostly they subsist on lichens, mushrooms and chaurus. But their main dishes, the lichens, are intoxicating. This is partially the reason why they've lost the intelligence and ingenuity of their ancestors. To keep TES from going steam-punk, the change in the dwarves is permanent. Not necessary to complete the story BUT, if the PC reaches Deep Delve (or whatever name the dwarven city has), dwarven PCs are unlocked. A SECOND playthrough with a dwarven PC allows for play from the "other side", the entire game can be replayed, starting in "Deep Delve" instead of Helgen.

The Dwemer (Dwarves) all disappeared due to Kagrenac's meddling with godhood. The only Dwemer not to disappear, seen in Morrowind, only avoided this fate because he was on a plane of Oblivion/outside of existence at the time. So, from a lore perspective, this makes zero sense. Sorry.

EDIT: To clarify, by "the only Dwemer not to disappear", I literally mean one. One guy.

Hircine's Hunting Grounds. Hunt alongside Hircine as a werewolf, or fight to pull out souls from his Realm to Sovngarde(Kodlak mentioned something like that)

Let's kick Thalmor [censored]!

Besides I already kill them when ever i run into one of their patrols or when they are escorting a prisoner.
I would like to see the fruits of my labor... So yea.. Let's have a war with them and kill them all.

I'd like a Thalmor Invasion, probably have to be set in Hammerfell since that is touching Skyrim.

The Dwemer, as a people, were willing to enslave an entire race. They're fairly evil.

I do want to see a Dwemer themed DLC where you use the Kel to travel back in time, but I see the Dwemer just as likely an enemy to the Dragonborn as the Falmer who are rebelling. An interesting twist would be that going back in time was what was responsible for the disappearance of the Dwemer. Perhaps you would have the option to cast them into limbo to preserve them, for when the world is finally ready to interact with them and share in their knowledge or the alternative would be to create a time paradox and destroy them all for their cruelty to the snow elves.

As for people saying Morrowind resolved that plot thread - I highly doubt it would have been brought up again if it wasn't going to be touched.

Yeah... and if you're a hard core, nothing can ever change to disprove the existing lore, your point would be valid. Only imagination comes into play and what you want to realize, you can, if it can be explained reasonably. There's always an explanation. For instance... Deep Delve exists out of phase, in an Oblivion pocket, they were experimenting and Deep Delve is actually a gigantic centurion, the magic field shielding them, and so on. To say that FICTIONAL FANTASY lore is static is pretty... well... weird. It's kind of like geeks arguing minor one episode details at a Star Trek convention.

Invading Summerset Isle ? are you serious ? :spotted owl: i really hope they invade the mankind.... imagine a world with so much more lore, more magic, incredible architecture, vast amazing culture. I really hope they do that in the next game i'm sick of regular stupidity of clearing caves, bandits strongholds and meaningless conflicts of ignorant humans. Seriously what humans ever did? Nothing

lol my game is constantly crashing so just keep coming back :hubbahubba: :brokencomputer:

well this has definitely made me change my opinion

I want several things

I want a DLC house.

I want a good 12 quest questline that has something to do with Talos

I want a few unique weapons and armor

I wouldnt mind some added overland monster races like goblins and minotaurs

I want a lot more things for my characters to spend their gold on.

I have come to think of it as the Moneybags DLC.

Things to do with your houses - improve/expand/display options/hirer staff/etc

Buy a castle or a boat - improve/expand/display options/hire staff

Buy better horses/horse armor/armor dyes

Improvements to cities/guilds you are in charge of - improve/expand/hire people/etc

Become patron/sponsor of things - the orphanage, an explorers club etc.

Plenty of other good ideas around. By a farm, build/rebuild a town/fortress/trading post etc.

I don't think it's valid to compare "arguing minor one episode details" with expecting some kind of internal logic. The Dwemer might be a footnote in Skyrim, but it was a pretty major portion of the plot in Morrowind, particularly in relation to how it remained inconclusive. If Bethesda decide to bring back the Dwemer, they need to do more than handwave, "oh yeah and they have a magic space city", in order to do so. To do otherwise would, imo, be completely disrespectful to their fanbase.

If they make an expansion I don't care what it is as long as they tone back the amount of quests and replace it with quests that have a better overall plotline and aren't as stupid as some of the guild ones already ingame.

Any interesting and decent length questline involving anything really, but I want to be able to truly approach it in different angles. I also want the dialogue options to be varied and interesting.

I voted Thalmor invasion, but I want more depth to it than simply "go here and fight the Thalmor off, then here, then take the fight to their embassy." I want battles involving ships and I want to see the ability to travel to Atmora especially to gain the natives as trade partners/mercenary support/ fodder in the war taken to the Thalmor

Summerset Isle would be the land if any to get another one named after it. It won't be an expansion.

I'd like to see something involving the Thalmor stirring up trouble in High Rock/ Orisinium as a sort of lead up to the next Elder Scrolls game. I don't see the Thalmor being dealt with anytime soon, since I think they are being set up to be the big baddies of the next 1-2 Elder Scrolls games which will probably focus on Valenwood, Elsweyr, and the Summerset Isles. I could be wrong, but regardless I do want to see High Rock and I just don't think they will devote a whole game to it since Daggerfall was focused in that region.

Are your forgetting the Warp of the West? The High Rock in TES2 Daggerfall has been erased & replaced Back to the Future II style.

Id like to catch a ship out to some island near wherever the Redguards are from. Sorta like the Bloodmoon expansion.

There outfits got me interested. Kind of a north African feel.

Be a cool way to see a totally new landscape. (without to much work)

A DLC involving the return of Lamae Beolfag/Bal. Two "new" factions become joinable, the Volkihar and the Order of the Virtuous Blood. You can join the Volkihar as a vampire, and they have a quest line that furthers Lamae Beolfag's goals. The PC Vampire experience greatly improved, allowing you to feed off of freshly slain NPCs, as well as the ability to choose how much to feed, in order to keep yourself at a certain level of Vampirism. Also gain a power similar to Frost Breath/Ice Form, that becomes more powerful the higher character and Vampire level that you are. The Order of the Virtuous Blood is a Vampire-Hunting order, with a quest line involving the thwarting of Lamae Beolfag's goals. The Volkihar are favored by Molag Bal, and the Order of the Virtuous Blood is favored by Arkay. At the end, a showdown between Molag Bal and Arkay, similar to Akatosh vs Mehrunes Dagon at the end of TES IV: Oblivion.
