what if you were offered an advance copy of skyrim, but...

At first I thought "YES!", but thinking about it release is a collective phenomenom that aggregates the fun and excitement.

And delay by a month (or really, two months from when I got the game) the development of nifty mods for my second playthrough?

Heck no! :)

No,I'd wait that month,so I could speak to others of it,and I would hate to be that guy who gets a game before the release date and brags or gives things away and ruins it....

I wouldn't take it, mostly because I don't want to be murdered by my friends...

No, I wouldn't take it.. Just for the fact that no one would have it except a select few ( maybe 100 -1,000 people if that ).. And we couldn't exchange opinions on how to complete certain quests, and parts of the story (etc) with out it getting deleted on here.. I could wait until it's released it'll be painful but I could wait..

When members of a society cease working together and only look out for themselves, that society ceases to be a civilized one and becomes just a group of selfish people. No, I would not take the game early.

Yep. Sorry guys.

I'd make sure to max out the graphics options and post PC screenshots / gameplay all over the forums for you though.

I'd wait to ensure they have a little cushion to stomp out more bugs.

As tempting as it is to play it early I would wait for the general release date.

Well, lets just call it all off and put the release date for

12-12-12

They will cancel the game at 12-12-12 , and that'll end the world.

Absolutely not. Even if it were complete and polished, there's just no point without having anybody to understand and share my stories with. Skyrim fans stay together!

Just like that? No strings attached except for a million or so people who I'll probably never meet in person have to wait one extra month to play it? You bet I would.
Of course that's assuming this whole hypothetical deal takes place behind closed doors, and said millions of raving lunatics fans have no idea why the release gets pushed back.

If it was public then I would decline. Not out of any sense of honor or anything, I'd just rather not be shot and/or bludgeoned by angry mobs.

Screw everyone else, I'll getting it a month early. This is killing me. I'm on the forum, talking about a game 6 months before it is released.

ive been talking about it for ten months...and i voted no.

No because then I'd have to wait quite a while before any good mods came out.

I think part of the fun of getting a new game is talking about its awesomeness with other people who have played it, getting the game a month early would take away from the experience in my opinion.

This reminds me of the movie "The Box." The premise basically was, you were given a box with a button. If you pressed that button, one person that you do not know, would die. But you would gain one million dollars. This obviously isn't as extreme as that. However, the premise is the same. You gain something, while others you do not know suffer for it.

So, no. I would not take the advance copy of Skyrim. I don't even like it when I, a 360 owner, get timed exclusive DLC.

Of course I'd take it, And anyone who says they wouldn't is a liar, Hell, I don't know any of you people. I get the game a month early and you have to wait an extra month, So what? I'll be all happy at home playing my advanced copy.
