what if you were offered an advance copy of skyrim, but...

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:36 am

Yep. Sorry guys.

I'd make sure to max out the graphics options and post PC screenshots / gameplay all over the forums for you though.

Pretty much this, except I'd make sure to release a mod or two that no one could play :spotted owl:

Of course I'd take it, And anyone who says they wouldn't is a liar, Hell, I don't know any of you people. I get the game a month early and you have to wait an extra month, So what? I'll be all happy at home playing my advanced copy.

Actually no. Anyone who says otherwise is not in fact, a liar. Like I said, I do not even like timed exclusive DLC because I hate the fact that my fellow gamers on PC and Ps3 have to wait. It's called empathy.

No, because I always wait to get the game for month or so after release, so there are mods waiting for me when I play. If I did this I would have to wait even longer, no thanks.

@The Minion, no I am not a liar.

Assuming it were a finished product, yes. I need to finish my mod as soon as possible after it's released. I think it'd make the official release that much sweeter if everyone had an awesome mod.

That is, assuming I actually could finish it by then.

I really couldn't do that to everyone else....

(That means I'm better than the 70 people that voted yes)

Why would a money making business give one person a complete game a month early and then delay the game a month for everyone else before the biggest commercial holiday?
I assume this one person would have to sign a contract so they couldn't leak the game. I would also assume they would have to be protected or live in a bunker to stop all the fans
getting at them. How would this person also have the power to tell Bethesda to give them the game and delay it for everyone else?

It makes no sense from any standpoint. Why not just have a prize- givaway a month early instead?

Obviously this is a very strange scenario, if the game was already 100% completed and the same exact version was released 2 months later for the rest of the world what would de devs even do? :P

But since this is hypotethical, I say No. 11.11.11. is too cool, plus I really don't mind the wait and I wouldn't want to be hutned down by the members <_<

I have a lot of friends looking forward to skyrim - and it shall be a long day of drinking beer and playing skyrim together when it comes out.

So no.

Besides, I'd get attacked by a lynch mob, led by the techno-viking. *shudders*

As greedy as i sound....and as guilty as i feel.

I would gladly let you all hang dry to play it earlier.

First off, both the "Yes" option and "No" option were at exactly 48.01%, after I voted. I'm disappointed in you, Skyrim GD. You'd really do that to your fellow fans, just to play the game one month earlier?

I voted no; I wouldn't want all of the good people (exactly 76, so far) to be screwed over the release date. That, and I enjoy the wait and the information that comes with it.

hell yes I would take an advance copy. Screw you guys. In fact, they should postpone it for a year, so that I have enough time to play through the whole thing and spoil the game for all of you.

No, I wouldn't be that much of an arsehole. I can be patient.

EDIT: Not to mention, a2 months of Skyrim that I would have nobody to discuss with, or if I did, have angry hackers destroy my computer and angry people with money fly over and vandalise my house, would be lonely.

Nice edit.

Well, I felt it was essential to do in order to better communicate the finer points of my statement.

No thanks. As much as I want Skyrim, I don't feel like changing the date on my calendar.

Aside from the fact that that would be totally selfish, I'd rather wait on patches and the modding community. So no.

Yes. (94 votes [48.45%])

No. (94 votes [48.45%])

Other. (please explain, it doesn't seem possible, but tell me if you think of something) (6 votes [3.09%])

odd how they've stayed pretty much equal, i didn't expect that.

No. Let them get it out as early as possible, let bug reports come in and patches come out, and let modders get to work as soon as possible.
