what if you were offered an advance copy of skyrim, but...

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:49 am

If you were offered access to the complete game a month early (october 11th.), but if you accepted the release date was changed to 11th december 2011, would you accept and ruin the fun for the rest of us, or be nice, and wait till we all get it together.

I'll be honest, i'm a horrible person, and am incredibly egotistical, so i'd get it a month early. sorry.

EDIT.
It would not be a buggy unfinished version, i said complete!
(Or as non-buggy as it would be on releas day anyway. This is hypothetical.)

Are they doing anything with that month or just twiddling their thumbs? Because I am patient and greatly jaded/annoyed by games with great potential being released too early. If it meant another month of fine-tuning I'd probably take the deal and then NOT play the advance copy.

No for me. I can't picture myself sticking it to everyone like that. Plus, I'm not too fashed about waiting until November.

Not to mention, 12-11-11 (or 11-12-11 for others) doesn't look or sound as cool.

Screw everyone else, I'll getting it a month early. This is killing me. I'm on the forum, talking about a game 6 months before it is released.

What do you mean its fun getting it together? lol I hope you don't believe everyone who knows about the game is getting it on release date.......And I'm pretty sure once you get Skyrim the notion of -everyone else- is no where near the front of your mind

A curse upon you for your willingness to do that! :D Seriously, I'd love to get the game early to help test it for everyone else but not at the expense of pushing the release date back. When I play these games, I do all the helpful quests to make life better for the world I'm running around in. I sure wouldn't want to make it worse for people IRL while I was at it. :)

No, because it would be a buggy, unfinished version.

I wouldn't do it. Mainly because I plan on modding a few days after release, and there would be NO input on what mods people want and things like that if I am the only one with the game.

My first thought was absolutely, but that means another month before mod'ers get their hands on it, so no.

Of course not. We must advance as society, not as single egoists.

Nope I am not that selfish - I would wait. I want to play it and swap stories, read the experience of others, ask questions and give answers with all the other players. That to me is part of the fun of a new game.
