What do you do with all this gold?

Post » Wed May 13, 2015 2:20 am

I have over 200,000 gold but there is nothing to buy with it. I built and/or bought all houses. (wish I could buy the emperor's ship!)

I don't need really any reagents or soul gems because it's an easy matter to find all you need laying around.

My character is forsworn and only wears and uses regular, minimally enchanted forsword clothes and weaponry.

So what do you do with all this gold?

Welcome to End Game economy. It's an issue with most games, you need money in the beginning but can't get any, and in the end, when you don't need money, you can't stop amassing it.

I just let it build up and ignore it. I also stop bartering for things and just pay the initial price.

If I had the patience to drop one coin at a time, I'd probably go for it!

I know some players will leave some gold in a barrel or other un-safe storage, then pretend that the local people found it. It's kind of a donation, but you don't see any obvious signs of extra income among the locals.

The only thing I do is try to limit how much my PC carries and stash the rest in a house. Other than that, it just piles up, up, up...

Simple Taxes. The tax collector comes around monthly. it adds up if you have a lot of houses and horses.

After a while, my characters usually stop picking up loot except for quest items and unique things. And they stop selling things to merchants.

Throw my sack of gold at Al, instantly killing him.

The old Final Fantasy's had the Coin skill, allowing you to attack by throwing money at the enemy. And of course Fallout 3 and NV had Bottlecap Mines. Need a mod to make money into weapons :hehe:

There's this

Skyrim sorely needs a Rock-it Launcher! I'd love to kill someone with 120 red apples

I'd be perfectly satisfied with the ability throw pots and pans at them. :)

Hey! What did I ever do to you?!

There are those achievements to shoot for, like 1 million gold and 10 million?
