1. The questline will be different as it has dragons as the main enemy not a deadra lord. Although the quests for any RPG is sort of the same in the way a hero/s defeat a evil being and save the world.

2. It will be glitched but hopefully nothing to serious and they do release patches for most bugs found after release.

3. The perks are associated with the skills. For example, you take the skill 'one handed' and the perks that open up for that skill will be bonuses for things like - Sword, Axe, duel weild, etc.

I personally think the storyline in 1. sounds great and I cant wait to get stuck into some dragons, 2. is a given for any game released these days. and 3. sounds like it will be so much better for replaying different characters.

One handed weapon and spell, no parrying/blocking.
Magic system not quite wonderful enough to compensate for spellmaking.
Radiant story goes fruitloop, giving quest after nonsense quest until the whole thing gets unstable and crashes.
Guilds have less character than maybe they could.
Simplified alchemy, I want to learn the hard way.
They have a College of Bards, but there is nothing interesting to do there.

But so what, will love it anyway.

I worry that it will be like Oblivion in that Oblivion failed to facilitate a suspension of disbelief (through various small failures in design as well as intentional implementation of mechanics that broke me out of the game).

The feeling of "being there" that I had when playing Morrowind (for over 1000 hours) only lasted for a few short hours in Oblivion, and I worry that this trend will continue in Skyrim as it was also present in Fallout 3. I admit, it is very difficult to present a fictional universe in a compelling manner, but they managed to capture it in Morrowind and I really hope (but sincerely doubt) that they will do so again with Skyrim.

At 1:50 when he slashes the dragon's underbelly and gets blood splatted on his chest and shoulder. Gives me really bad memories of persistent gore from DA:O (haven't played DA2 to know if its still in there) but it looked stupid as hell back then and I really really really hope it isn't making an appearance in Skyrim.

In the wonderful ?Lost in Translation? (2003), there's a scene where the main character's annoyed wife asks him over the phone:
?Bob, do i have to worry about you??
?Only if you want to?, he replies.

You can remove persistent gore by de-checking a box in both DA:O and DA2. If Skyrim has anything like it, I imagine they'll add the option to de-check it as well to appease concerned mothers and those who find it silly.

This...

Oh, Im also worried about me not making the wait for skyrim, as 233 days is a long wait...

or 7.667 (or 7.516, depends on if you divide the# of remaining days by 31 or 30...) months is a long wait...

That is, not being able to make it, IE going insane during the wait... (because the summer months are the longest...) [even though it isnt summer >_>]

Oh, there's LOTS of potential causes for concern; why shouldn't there be worries? Anyone who thinks that Skyrim will be perfect is making the fallacy of assuming that there's perfect humans out there. gamesas makes mistakes, just like everyone else; their history has shown this with Fallout 3, Oblivion... Even Morrowind and Daggerfall. As for the concerns I have, just to rattle off a few... Along with the counterpart "hope" element, to try and put some positive thinking here:

  • The graphics suffer from the new engine - Already a valid concern given the teaser trailer, which distinctly shows about the same texture/model detail from OB, with virtually all shaders recycled from either Oblivion or Fallout 3. The rapids, for instance, look just as horrible as they did in OB: a set of scrolling transparent textures. I worry here that thanks to having to cook up a new in-house engine, the game's graphic programmers had little time to work on developing NEW effects.
    • My Hope: The trailer's materials were largely temporary placeholders, that will be long gone by the time
  • The game's graphics reflect a "this isn't actually PC-first" mentality - developers can say what they want: this doesn't change what they do, though. While some things might be fine on a console looks-wise, (given that the 360 & PS3 *ARE* some 3 Moore's Law generations old) PC gamers want something to justify having upgraded from their old 7800GT to a GTX 580. Instead, with most games, we just get a hastily-and-poorly-done PC port that is horrifically inefficient compared to how it could've been made, requiring a vastly more powerful piece of hardware just to handle console-level graphics once all the added "bloat" is thrown on.
    • My Hope: We actually see a game that develops on the PC first, resulting in BOTH better PC graphics, as well as attempts to "push the envelope" on the consoles to squeeze in every bit of the PC's level they can onto them.
  • Spellmaking gets removed - Very valid concern; the spellmaker system has been a cornerstone of TES gameplay since, well, Arena 17 years ago. If an alternative system is put in as described... That's an FPS mechanic, not an RPG mechanic. You CAN put FPS mechanics in, but using them to REPLACE RPG mechanics makes the game an FPS, sorry.
    • My Hope: We see spellmaking retained... WITH the on-the-fly modifications. The new mechanic added doesn't serve to replace older, more elaborate parts, but instead serves to add on top of them: adding icing to the cake, rather than removing the cake and replacing it with just icing.
  • Minor stuff gets ignored to cover big things. Again. - The clearest example here: rain falls through roofs, bridges, trees, awnings, and other outdoor objects in Arena. It did so in Daggerfall. It did so in Morrowind. And it did so in Oblivion. Another case of something overlooked was the spell list in Oblivion: you couldn't delete your own spells to clear up a list that might be cluttered with old, outdated spells like the tutorial "flare." Oops!
    • My Hope: gamesas places extra emphasis on reviewing and making sure the small issues don't slip through the cracks, dedicating tangible resources, such as some developers devoting specific days/times to such matters.
  • The game winds up glitchy and poorly-supported after release - glitches are a way of life for RPGs. They're to be expected. But they aren't good, either, and some games are glitchier than others. Worse yet is when a game is released full of bugs, and the developers give little effort into fixing them, as they're too busy working on the next project that'd actually sell for MONEY, like DLC, expansions, or another game, rather than free-to-download patches for people who've already given them their money.
    • My Hope: Going hand-in-hand with the PC/console focus issue, a simultaneous release date should see work finished on the PC version FIRST. Then, development continues on porting the game to consoles, affording a decent span of time to focus on stamping out bugs, and giving enough time to truly try and "abuse" the game to shake bugs out of hiding.

I worry about what these boards are going to look like once the game finally gets released.

Because people will be outraged for whatever their personal reasons, and they'll come here to spew their bile and vitriol.

THAT is what I worry about.

What do I worry about? Well, since children are in the game, I worry about thier AI set with ANY confidence. They are all going to be flagged essiential and it would svck if they fought you because they would be undefeatable opponents.

Aren't there real strict rules against that kind of stuff? And by rules I mean that the ESRB/PEGI would go totally berserk about you chopping away at kids, even if they were just knocked unconcious.

Im betting that you wont even be able to attack them, or they you for that matter.

The Bugs/Glitches is probably the most important thing that I'm worried about due to BGS's past history in that department.

It's not really that silly. If you slit someones jug expect pints of blood to spray all over your face. In just a sort time of battling you would be covered in blood. It's just plan more realistic.

I think that "persistent" was a key word there. If things run around with blood from battles that were minutes/hours ago, it gets kinda annoying. You can't be a knight in shining armor if you can't clean your armor off.
