What is your Character's Religion?

Post » Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:32 pm

Just curious as to what religions peoples characters follow. I doubt many will know Tomato unless you've been to Skingrad haha. My character has yet to find his way, but is leaning towards the Nine.

Elphias is sort of split right now in where his beliefs are. As a child, he was raised by his parents to worship Azura. But, watching the Emperor be murdered in front of him has forced him to re-evaluate Daedra and those that worship them. Also, as the head of a newly established Noble House, he is very much a "law and order" type. The teachings of some of the Daedra cults could threaten the social hierarchy of Cyrodiil if left unchecked, so it may be in his best interests to join forces with the Church of the Nine.

Some Daedra arent too bad haha. I'm considering following Tomato now tho. It seems like a very appealing religion and its based out of my favorite town, Skingrad!

Atheist. Daedra are just bored and self-interested gods who see humans only as tools or as some sort of entertaintment. And I don't completely trust the Nine by far (and after some certain http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Stendarr%27s_Mercy, even less).

Amen to that on Daedra. I don't have KOTN unfortunately. Convert to Tomato dude. Talk to a dark elf lady in Skingrad about it.

I mean its not exactly a legitimate religion but its a cool idea for one if you don't have a religion. Just eat lots of tomatoes and visit her farm a lot haha. Cool idea for roleplaying.

Mix of Daedra and Nine. There's proof of both, there's no reason to favor one over the other, neither can be disregarded because their so close with their creations. I mean, you can actually talk to a Daedric Prince, and the Nine give you direct blessings after praying to them, so, it's hard to not believe in them, however you can hate them. Mine isn't a religious sort, but he doesn't disregard them either.

Tomato sounds tempting............
I go my own way, thats what I said to the emperor himself, and I'm sticking to it. They all have their good points and their bad, I dabble around with each one. Sometimes none at all.

My char was born and raised in Bravil. Not surprisingly, she follows the teachings of Mara. She recognizes the Nine, but it is Mara that she speaks with.

She was also chosen as a Child of Dawn (Slayer) by Azura. She respects Azura, but does not feel any obligation to her.

My characters have no religion, but still pay their respects to several daedra lords and some of the divines. Not worship or anything, just enlightened self-interest

My only character that worships anything so far is Dyan phor a'Cauze, the lawful-good paladin. I'd say Mara is her primary (that's her starsign, too) but she kinda pays tribute to all the nine.

Luci Pheria (black magic witch) doesn't really worship, but she does weird little arcane rituals that she imagines pertain to something evil, but have nothing to do with Daedric stuff at all. She's just crazy. :bonk:

I've many characters.
All of my Nords still worship http://www.imperial-library.info/content/races-tamriel-nord, God of Ransom. And, since Stuhn is technically the precursor, all of my non-Nordic characters follow http://www.imperial-library.info/content/nine-divines-stendarr.

I think it would be really hard to be an athiest in Tamriel. After all you can summon the Daedric Princes, so there is clearly proof they exist. And, if you pray at an Altar of the Nine, there are definite rewards for doing so. You may not worship any of them, but I don't think anyone in Tamriel could really say that there is no proof that either the Nine or the Daedric Princes exist. Which is the definition of being an athiest, not believing in the existence of a god or gods. Just because you don't have a religion doesn't make you an athiest.

Severus worshiped nothing but recognized the Nine and respected their laws. At his death, he prayed to the Nine for acceptance into the afterlife.

Sarrah worshiped Akatosh and was working toward the eventual destruction of Mehrunes Dagon. Sadly. she died before realizing her dream.

Angel worships Dibella. She is generally a gentle and loving free spirit who simply wants to make her potions and see the world.

So you play that once you're dead, you're dead?
Kinda offtopic but I'm surprised that there's only one Sithis worshipper so far, the Dark Brotherhood and Sithis were very popular back when I first played Oblivion.
