What do your characters sound like?

Yeah, so I'm bored at work, with at least two more hours to go. Thank goodness I can surf some webbage, and start silly threads like this one. What does your character sound like? ... What does he, she, or it sound like in your head, especially?

Being a female, I have some trouble voice-acting my male characters, but in my head they always sound a particular way. I will start (since I am the OP of this thread. :whistling:)

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/Image0143.jpg. As a Redguard thief, I usually hear him sounding just like the guy who voices all Redguards in the game (couldn't find his name after much searching, folks). Kahreem even laughs the same a-ha-ha-hah.

http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/saga-1.jpg is more difficult to explain. Her voice is definitely not anybody in-game; instead I often hear a female with a mellower pitch. Her voice is British, probably a light Cockney accent. I'll have to post an example later on.

What odd timing! In my just-posted Character Update entry I mention having successfully voice-acted from my avatar for the first time in ages. Don't read too much into that. I most certainly sound nothing like my avatar does at this stage of his existence. Rather, I mean I was able to spontaneously extemporize meaningful comments and replies to fit his various situations. That's a real rarity for me any more.

I actually envision two distinct voices for my avatar, one for when I first met him in the bowels of the Imperial Prison, one as he is after the restorative blessings of the Nine, bestowed upon him while endeavoring to become their representative on Nirn.

The first, earlier voice, is very like the beggars one encounters in Cyrodiil's various cities. This voice I can satisfactorily mimic. I'd go so far as to say that I can sometimes pull off the lines better than Bethesda's voice actors...so long as one is comfortable with over-the-top emoting.

I don't quite have his current voice set in stone...but imagine it to sound akin to your average elderly Nord. He does, on occasions, slip and revert to the earlier voice. Or maybe he does so on purpose. Who's to say?

I use a voice set mod for Buffy that I have grown to love and it suits her perfectly. She’ll pop off with a dozen or so comments that are pretty well suited to what is going on around her. My fave is when we enter a town, she’ll sometimes say, “Well, looks like we’re not out of the woods yet. Oh wait!” *giggle* “We are!”

I haven’t the tech nor interest in trying to make audio in game captures, so the closest I can do to show her voice is on someone else's Oblivion you tube vid. The young lady is not Buffy, but uses the same voice set. The first voice snip is at 13 seconds and best snip is within the last 5 seconds of the vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXw8RCkUUTs

While her speaking voice is what I might call cute, she has a beautifully haunting singing voice. In fact it sounds exactly like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeZAb1mdgXI.
