I've got two I encountered last night, on this the eve of my second play-through.

First was a little east-southeast of Satellite Station Olivia, on Hard mode. I was sneaking among the rocks and spotted a toppled fridge, so I went to investigate. Got ambushed by some molerats, then I heard a high-pitched beeping like a SM Suicider! All of a sudden the molerat that was charging me exploded! Who knew they could do that?

Second was when I was wrapping up for the night, and trying to get to Relay Tower 3SM-U81 (east of Ten Pines Bluff.). Spotted the raiders camped out there, started taking pot-shots, and Dogmeat got into the action. Saw the tell-tale headlamp of a raider in power armor, and as I dropped into VATS to give him a facefull of lead, I heard the frightening whine of a mini-nuke launched from a fat man! Got my two shots off and still managed to dodge the nuke, switched to my shotgun, and approached Boomer with caution while my faithful pup kept him occupied. Then he evidently decides that there's only ONE way to get a pissed-off Alsatian off his junk, and that's to lob a nuke at his feet! Took us all out, and left me going LOLWUT!?

During the Brotherhood mission to retake the fort where you fight the behemoth, one of the thrown rocks finally exploded the vertibird. I got ragdolled to the ground in first person. Thought I was dead even with PA as the camera went third person and circled around me lying on the ground, soaking up rounds from mutants... and then I got up and was only missing something like 20 hit points.

After getting the Penetrator perk the first time, I shot a raider in the face and the bullet went through him and killed the raider behind him. I had thought it was only good for blasting through cover. This kind of thing happens regularly with that perk (accidentally killed provisioners, synths I was trying to rescue, passing traiders) but the first time was just awesome because I wasn't expecting it.

The first time I found an exploding combat shotgun. Took a PAM mission to clear Brotherhood soldiers. Found them - all three in Power Armor. Figured I'd take the Legendary first, fired at his skull with a stored crit, and the explosion took out all three guys at once.

I don't know if it was a crazy moment, but more of a just sit back and watch moment. I always send all my companions back to the Castle because it's just easier for me to remember where they are. Man, did all those companions come in handy during "Defend the Castle"

Just sat back and watched them bum rush the enemy and mow them down.

I get a call to help defend the slog. Fast travel there, and nothing yet, so I know it's gonna be ghouls. As I'm there on the wall here they come, 9ish charred ghouls. Of course they spawn on the only side I didn't have turrets. Enter the settlers, all charging out of the base, and 2 passing provisioners join the fight. After a few minutes of fighting they all head back to the entrance.


Except the 2 provisioners, who head directly into Sanguis Ironworks and pick a fight with the Forged. I watch from the wall as they Duke it out when, Vault tech decides to don his cape ::superman music::. Great, now I rush over to help, because vault tech can die. Then here comes the cavalry, as the slog again empties.


That's how a simple defend mission turned into a 20 minute battle. On the bright side, now all the settlers at slog are armed with flamers. .

- i disarmed a door tension trap , focused my attention abit on something else for whatever reason ... forgot about the trapped door , when i opened it the grenade bouquet was directly on top of my nose ... it didn't explode because i disarmed it but if it ware real life i think i would have crapped my pants

Fighting a couple raiders in an interior with multiple floors. I'm at the top of stairs, they're at the bottom. See one queuing up the grenade animation so I boogie around the corner.


See two grenade icons float up the staircase... then back down. Raiders *both* took each other out.
