what's your empty weight?

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 8:32 am

190 to 200 ish of 410. Deep pocketed everything and with 3 ranks of Lone Wanderer at level 50.

I carry too many weapons with me, but I do like to cover all eventualities lol.

Edit: I could probably lose the .50 sniper and the shotty, can't remember the last time I used them except for the scope on the .50 to have a wee look see before moving in. Would reduce me by just over 40 in carry weight.

Typically around 160.

At this point I have so much money I pick up only ammunition, or materials I actually need. I carry only two weapons (Deliver, baton) in addition to a dozen frag grenades. Most of that weight comes from all the Aid I've picked up I can't bring myself to sell or store Psychojet, Refreshing Beverages, Berry Mentats...

The Lone Wanderer perk improves your Carry Weight when travelling by yourself or with Dogmeat. That's my guess. It could also be buffed with alternative effects like Radstag.

Deep pockets and lone wander, there may be a required reading perk in there also.

I try to stay at about 150 of just weapons, armor, food.

I've fiddled with only allowing myself to carry a "realistic" amount of ammo but resorted back to just carrying it all. The "realism" mods will be along soon enough, and the real strategizing about limiting kit and ammo allocation for a sortie will come into play. Course none of that matters if you allow yourself to use Fast Travel, which I avoid religiously in Skyrim but have indulged in quite a bit in Fallout 4.

I am at level 43. Encumbrance allowance without a Power suit is about 395 or so (Lone Wanderer, Strongback, STR 6) or at least in that ballpark. With power suit it is like 450, or 550 with the one with the carry weight boosting and strength boosting stuff.

I also have Dogmeat who seems to be able to carry somewhere between 150 and 200?

I routinely fill up this ~600 to 800 pound allowance while running missions and have to scrap stuff in the field or leave stuff behind. It breaks my heart every time I have to leave one of those precious little rusty tin cans behind to rust alone out there in the Wastes . . .

Appx. 135. I try to travel light, always use a companion and keep a couple of Radstag Steaks on me just in case. I love the oblique callback to Oblivion and Venison with the Radstag Steaks, btw!

I'd forgotten about the Strong Back perk, might have to stick the next few levels into Strength. Got to be able to take all that junk home.

Though I am getting very choosy about what I take off corpses these days, mainly just ammo and meds. I've even started leaving behind legendary items, can't break them down so they are useless to me.

I think last I checked it was around the same. 180. But when I am in my Power Armor I can carry 470lbs. And I pretty much pick up EVERYTHING. I am so happy for the perk that lets me fast travel when I am over encumbered.

110-125ish, depending on the weapons I carry. Out of ~415. (Lone Wanderer + Stong Back + Pockets)

(Right now, it's a 10mm pistol, .38 cal autopistol, plasma rifle, .50 sniper, and short combat rifle. Plus a few explosives. 8 frag/4 pulse gr, 4 frag/2 bottlecap mines.)

edit: and yeah, I just grabbed the FT-while-encumbered perk, so I can move huge amounts of stuff from my base to whereever I feel like trying to build a fancy building. If only it was "take all junk" and not "take all" in the Workshop. So much non-junk stuff in there, between mods & cooking/chemistry ingredients.

Around 150-170. Mostly Metal armor + 6 weapons atm (all single shot/ 1 melee) + 10radaways and 10radx <-- left out all the stuff that has no weight.

Hm, i'm between 95 and 120, but only cause i don't want to get rid of my main .50 cal rifle. :S

My setup:

- .50 cal rifle, no scope, silanced, twoshot

- .50 cal sniper, scoped, silanced, twoshot

- Deliverer, silanced

- Stealth Combat Knife, double dmg when full health

- 5x leighweight/muffeled shadowed heavy combat armor, chameleon/sprinter

- some explosives for the bigger stuff

- very few other supplies

And i'm just waiting for an ammo weight mod. <3

Would make things so much more fun.

I don't get the need to carry all the big stuff... some well placed mines or grenades have the same effect while using up almost no space.

At lvl 40 I'm around 175-200...try to keep it low, but it's hard. I remember glorious early levels under 150, even under 140... :sadvaultboy:

I'm right there with ya, maybe a couple pounds heavier. My max is 360, so hit the limit rather quickly. Suffice it to say, my current character loves her buffout.

I carry 6 different guns, so there's most of my weight. I try to keep things from getting too built up. I only pack around 10 of each kind of chem (all aid for that matter), same goes for grenades and mines.

I'm level 47 at the moment and still average between between 73 & 95.

I don't carry much. I was at 122 not too long ago, but I was carrying 30 Molotov's and a like number of grenades. I do love my grenades.

I like to hear both Bang!, Boom!, Zap! and Kapow!

Actually that reminds me, I've got most all my weapons suppressed now and while it is definitely more "strategic" I think I like it less!

Around 165, depending on how many refreshing beverages I have left, and whether or not I forgot the Hazmat Suit. It's mostly the missile launcher, grenades, and a ton of food that I don't eat enough of.

Reading this thread makes me feel a lot less bad about it, though.

212 on first game. Ready to burn down the whole Commonwealth looking for Shaun (and copper).

79 on second game. She's still little and hasn't learned to mod her weapons.

Aid items is the biggest source of unaccounted weight for me. Playing on survival many health items become redundant due to slow healing rates and they stack up. I had 60 purified water at one point. Now all of my med that aren't stim pack, rad away or jet get stored, and I almost have 100 of each now. I use 9 weapons and I can get my weight down to 180 with a max of 450 before Chems. I try to limit weight on weapons so I can carry more.
