What is your experience like? (buggy, bug-free, minor issues

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 5:47 pm

An almost-perfect game performance on PS3 describes my situation. I had one spinning Roulette wheel that just kept spinning and never saved and other than a little stuttering in one place, that's been it. I save often so my game is moving along. I got hit with the A-bomb on Oblivion at the end and couldn't finish the game so I hope to have a much better experience on FNV. I'm sorry for everyone who isn't having a great experience yet. I hope the fix is quick.

Added: I went to Browser>Tools>Delete Cache before loading the game and I'm hoping that helped. It seems to when I loaded a Fallout 3 Save that stuttered. Then it didn't.

God damnit.

My game just crashed for the first time after playing for 7 hours straight. I have been auto-saving like a fiend the whole time, but guess what, I load FNV back up and my last save is from 7 hours ago (when i quit the game properly). So ive gone from level 12 back to level 3....

Sorry but... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Why in the hell does crashing matter to save games....

Crash was just random :/ opened up a friggin ammo box.

Whats the use of playing if I need to quit the game every time I save for it to even save properly? This has to be a number 1 priority for patching. Totally [censored].

Seriously, I own the PS3 GOTY Edition and it was so glitchy I had to dump the game data every load up. Further, I own FO3 on Xbox 360 with all the DLC's and experienced freeze-ups every so often. However know I have a new Xbox 360 Slim and a brand new spanking cop of Fallout Vegas, which I pre ordered back in march of this year and every time I run from a death claw around the NCR Ranger safe house the game freezes. I am sure this freezing issue as well as everyone else’s freezing issue can be blamed on a vast amount of excuses but to be honest I do not care. In sum, I just want to know when I along with everyone else who has freezing problems can expect an update so we can play Fallout Vegas without stressors like freeze-ups. I say this because for the 59.99 plus tax as well as all the money we will pour into Bethesda’s pockets in future DLC purchases we deserve better.

PC.

Moderately buggy. The usual random CTDs that come with a gamesas game (talk to a shopkeeper, whoops CTD. Fast travel, whoops CTD. But random, not consistant). Plus the disappearing saves (fixed by putting Steam offline), weird crafting menu bug (locks up if you mouse over the right side of the window), and a couple odd instances of CTD when trying to set a gun to a quickslot.

Ignoring the save issue, nothing too bad.

I have only had one crash/freeze in 13 hours of gameplay and yes the game is slightly choppy, otherwise its great. I figure they will get to the patches sooner or later and then everyone can stop complaining.

I play on 360, only minor issues so far;

-Laggy framerate
-Sometimes, long load times
-Too many mountains I have to walk all the way around to get somewhere (More of a gameplay issue than bug)
-Froze once.
-Somewhat annoying texture glitch in the weapon condition meter

That's about it. Other than than these things, love the game.

I have vista 64, i7, 6 gig's of ram and a gtx 295. I have only played an hour or so into it. It makes no difference if it's set on 'low' or 'ultra', I still get micro freezes, stuttering whatever you want to call it, all the time. It's playable-just, but annoying and discouraging.

The big debilitating glitch is that when you Autosave / Quicksave, it does not seem to upload to steam (this is my guess). You CAN save, you CAN then load, the game works great. When your game is closed (or worse, crashes) and you open Fallout: NV again, the saves NO LONGER EXIST.

The only way to make "actual" saves is to go into the menu and click "Save". Basically, quicksave, quickload, and autosave CANNOT save you, and if your game crashes you will lose all progress until your last manual save.

The save issue is a PC ISSUE WITH STEAM, so I dont care if your Xbox saves. PC users must manually create saves (and often).

Other than that and some placement issues (npcs stuck in ground, or just "standing" there while you shoot them) this game is AMAZING and runs extremely well.

Its absolutely as you guessed, its an NCR mining facility with lots of quests, and they DO have a pet molerat. Either the game showed him as hostile, or since deathclaws are "behind" him on the radar, you assumed HE was hostile and killed him. The molerat himself is even a quest-giver since his leg is broken, haha.

But yes, NCR is very important.

Great game but it's just barely held together like some 2 bit patch job people do in the south east before a hurricane.

First playthrough was a breeze, minor issues.

Now none of my characters can get past level one.

How do you guys miss some of these bugs? I mean I know they can slip through and stuff, but the same issues are coming up and that's just from the people who're actually pissed enough to get on the forums and make an account. Odds are they're even more prevalent than that.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but it doesnt seem like it is something that should happen.

i finished the stuff in the starting town. was killing some thugs in an area just outside of town when i found some paper that told me to go north or something. so i go north for about 5 minutes when i see a red blip on my compass. it's one of those mutant mole rat things so i kill it. almost imediately i get jumped by three guys who are trying to gun me down so i kill them too. no sooner had i killed the 3 randomly attacking dudes, i get a message saying i am now hated by the NCR faction. WTF?!

i was unaware that NCR was a group of such zealous enviromentalists. did they keep this mole rat as a pet? if so why was it a red blip on the compass? i find out later that this all took place near some mining complex and one of the guys had a unique name. the other two were simply "Quarry workers".

were these important NPCs for some NCR quest? am i now screwed? is there a way to fix it or should i reload my earlier save from about 2 hours ago?

forgot to mention im on PS3 if that matters.

besides that ive also gotten a gecko getting stuck in a boulder and clipping in and out of it.

You were probably wearing faction armor which made the quarry workers hostile. The mole rat is their pet. The workers are aligned with the NCR. So killing them obviously makes NCR hate you.

i have only experienced two freezes on the 360 near
Spoiler
Wolfhorn Ranch
, in addition to the weathered 10mm pistol attachment error, but otherwise I'm good. I'm playing on a standard 360, not the slim or elite version, and i have noticed my xbox hums more loudly when i play this game. the only other game it did it for was mass effect 1 but that game is 3 years old. soo

I am on a 360 Elite, installed to the HD. In about 10 hours of playtime I've encountered a couple of bark scorpions embedded in the rocks and one freeze last night (on my second evening of playing). Otherwise it's been smooth sailing so far.

yeah. from what i have heard so far, the PS3 seems to be running equal to or better then the 360 version.

im also on a ps3 and here is a list of all the problems i have had
Tabitha the mutant got stuck in a wall. making it annoying to try to get into the right position to loot her body.
1 enemy stuck in ground

not even bad enough to put minor

So far I've had repeated game crashs. I've had items I've picked up not show up in my inventory, such as you pick up the varmint rifle leaning against a wall and when you check your weapons, its not there. I've had the game's frame rates drop to dismal levels, and I'm running an I7 processor with 6 GB or ram and a NVidia 285 on windows 7 64 bit. The latest, and most game breaking thing (I actually don't even want to launch the game right now) is that I started a new character because I Didn't like some of the choices I made on the first characters developement, and the new characters autosaves and quick saves are gone. I've tested by making another character and deleting the auto and quick saves for the first character, but it will always revert back to the first character.

I've only gotten in a little ways into the game, and already I'm going back to playing fallen earth. I genuinely feel as though I wasted my money on this game.
