Any ammo that has the acronym "SWC" in it's name.

I still say we should have a .50MG Minigun.

The GAU 19 Minigun in real life:
Cartridge: 0.50 Browning
Length: 1811mm (46.5in.)
Weight: 33.6 kg (74lb, 1 oz)
Barrel: 914mm (36in)
Rifling: 8 grooves, rh
Feed System: Linkless Feed
Cycle Rate: Selectable 1000 or 2000 rounds/min
In Production: 1986-1993
There you have it, don't know how it would be in Fallout though.
Imagine, 2000 .50cal rounds in a minute.

12.7mm (not the .50 BMG) is so awesome.

All guns using it can be silenced, and the ammo weighs almost nothing at all!

That picture of the GAU, that's the exact picture in the book I looked in to put all of that info on here.

The recoil would hold up the minigun.

The recoil would hold up the minigun.

And its 74lbs, I don't think someone can control that without using a stand or something, maybe somebody with 10 STR would be able to. The requirement would be 10. Ammo would be expensive and a waste, so if the minigun were in Fallout, it wouldn't be much use.

I still say we should have a .50MG Minigun.

A 50 caliber machine gun is 128 lbs with the tripod. A minigun would weigh much more.

Wiki on the GAU 19 .50 minigun says:

Weight:
With feeder and transfer unit:139 lbs. (63 kg)

so thats like 11 lbs heavier? not really that bad.

Actually the Browning M2HB .50 is 84lbs, with tripod. It is a heavy machine gun.
The GAU 19 is 74lbs, it is a gatling gun. The weight is without the power supply and feeder.
The Russian DShK is 78lbs, shoots 12.7 x 107mm Soviet Rounds, which is a very long bullet, it is a heavy machine gun, with the wheels and all that.
I don't think many if not all HMGs are 128lbs, a Minigun might be 128lbs with the Power Supply and all the heavy electronics.
But, I'm not sure if my info is accurate.

Good ol Google.

20 rounds of 50 caliber is 1 kg. Somewhere around 500 RPM for the Browning. Much more for any multi-barreled devices.

There is a reason these things are not hand held ... what could it be?

Well, I didn't say it was handheld, the gun itself is 74lbs, with the supply, feed, and tripods and stuff like that, its about 130lbs.

How about certain weapons that have fixed ammunition, like a .50BMG Minigun with 200 bullets preloaded, you need power armor to use it and must get rid of it after all the ammo is gone or find a military quartermaster to have it reloaded, it takes a few hours/days for him or her to reload it and then you can pick it up for a fee.

I think a 12 STR weapon should be in the game :P

10 strength + T-45, or anything else effecting strength like Weapon Handling, alcohol, and Buffout.

200 bullets 10kg (a good 27lbs I think)
Gun itself around 75lbs
Wow, 102lbs on you, plus power armor.
In Fallout, the gun would be weighed down to 20 or 25lbs and the bullets weightless.

I still think that wearing Power Armor should negate the weight of suit itself.

It negates 20lbs if your STR is not 10 or 9. (It gives you 2 STR, I think)
The Minigun looks sick on my T-51b character, so does the Gatling Laser. In Fallout 3, that happened too, my T-51b looks sick with boxes on his back.

? In my game, Power Armor weighs 85 pounds and it gives me +3 STR, nowhere near what it should be, I also think that Power Armor should be able to raise your strength past 10, if you already have 9 or 10, My proposal is that Power Armor should have twice the STR benefit and no AGI detriment, like in the originals, to show the greatness of the armor, which is now just equivalent to pre-war riot armor and jeans.

50 lbs with +4 str (Str= 25 lbs per point) so thats 100 lbs support

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Power_armor_%28Fallout%29

42 lbs (in FO2) + 75 Lbs with +3 to STR bonus

I agree that they should track over ten (like in tactics you had SPECIAL over ten for various races and min and max scores)
