What is your favorite ammo type, not gun, ammo type.
Ammo type may be judged in whatever way you like, but no dissing other ammo type, that's ammo-ist.
Tiers are:
Level 1-10 Ammo Types
Level 11-20 Ammo Types
Level 21-35 Ammo Types
Remember, these tiers are set up my way, so your tiers may not be the same as mine.

My Favorites:
Level 1-10 Ammo: I would have to choose .357 Magnum Rounds
Level 11-20 Ammo: ........ .308, Sniper Rifle is pretty good at level 15.
Level 21-35 Ammo: .45-70 Government, Period.
Energy Weapons: Microfusion Cell
Explosives: Missile

I use Lucky alot in the beginning few levels. So 357 in the beginning, then usually hunting rifle or maybe lever shotgun. I usually stick to .308, and 12 gauge in the late game too. Even using .44 (mysterious magnum) or Desert Eagle. I don't really use Cowboy long arms much at all. I use alot of 5.56mm too end game.

I like the 10mm pistol for for the early-game versatility it offers and its admirable longevity as a useful weapon, then the Hunting Revolver for its unmatched versatility throughout the entire game, the 12.7 SMG is less versatile but it will drop anything in range even Deathclaws. My favorite EW is the Multiplas so Microfusion Cell, and Missile Launchers are used by Talon Company.

Guns:
.357 is my favourite low-level calibre, because of the Cowboy Repeater. Runner-up: 5.56mm, That Gun, the LMG, and the Marksman Carbine retain 5.56's usefulness at later levels.
.308 is my favourite mid-level calibre, because of the Hunting Rifle, Sniper Rifle, and of course, This Machine. Runner-up: .44 Magnum, the Trail Carbine is my third favourite rifle (This Machine and the Brush Gun are my first and second favourites)
12 Gauge is my favourite high-level calibre, nearly tied with .45-70 Gov. only because I prefer shotguns. (I still use This Machine at Lvl 30) Runner-up: .45-70 Gov. The Brush Gun is my favourite non-unique weapon.

Energy Weapons:
Microfusion Cells, it has the most variety of weapons available.

Explosives:
40mm Grenade, I've never found a missile launcher, excluding the ones wielded by The Boomers.

Not a very good poll, as I use .357 throughout on my main character.

I was hooked to .357 with Lucky (amazed by the reload animation), but when I realize VATS isn't god mode anymore, I take a bit of time to adjust and it still my No.1 walk around weapon.

.308 is just what you need in the wasteland, since I kinda overuse the Hunting Rifle in FO3, I stick to This Machine for the most part.

While I spend some quality time with Brush Gun, Ranger Sequoia is what I use most of the time.....you just have to love over caliber revolvers.

While flamer weapon is good, I am totally amazed by Laser RCW that I can't barely bring myself to break out other EW.

Surprise surprise is .223, it starch the durability of That Gun/Varmint Rifle/Ratslayer even more.

I kind of agree about the poll not being very "good", but its the best I can think of.
Remember, the tiers are set up my way, if the tiers are bothering you.

You could have listed all ammo types for each "tier".

Not all "tiers" use all ammo types.
For example, Brush Gun is a 21-35 tier, no gun at a 1-10 tier uses .45-70 Government Rounds.

I wish the .32 Pistol from FO3 was on NV, chambered in .308, making it a step in revolver evolution .357>.44>.308>.45-70 Gov't.

For energy weapons, microfusion for laser rifle and gauss rifle.

I dont see why they cant just make up a .308 Revolver, not all guns in fallout are exact replicas of real life guns, just based off of them. We already have the HR and RS based off of the real life Magnum Research BFR, why cant they just make up a .308 Revolver like they made up the Colt 6250 10mm Autoloading Revolver.

Wow, it isnt that big of a gun, it is not as strong as the Ranger Sequoia or Hunting Revolver, it is... do I really have to hold this idea out here, i thought it reasonable enough that it wouldnt be percieved as drastic.
