Ald'ruhn. I've always liked it's architecture.

I've always loved Sadrith Mora. It's architecture and its people are very cool. Also, many of Morrowind's smaller towns such as Gnisis, Dagon Fel, Pelagiad etc. have some kind of charm about them. Especially Raven Rock, when it's complete.

As for Oblivion, the only city I like much is Skingrad. It's gorgeous to look at, with its tall, narrow architecture, surrounding country side, etc. I like the layout of the city, the highway cutting a path right through it, how the castle is separated form the city. I also like the overall feel of the town. Knowing who rules over it, it's tall cramped buildings, etc. it's always felt like some city of an old gothic vampire tale.

Edit: Seeing Seti's post reminded me: New Sheoth is a really cool city -- very creative, and well planned out. I only wish each half had been much bigger..

i also think one of the coolest villages is aleswell. The view of the imperial city and lake Rumare is pretty mesmerizing.

In morrowind Balmora is my favorite just because is the first city i really grew on too because it was my first RPG

As for Oblivion, I really enjoyed Sutch myself. It had such beautiful grass, and trees, and it even had animals running through it. And it was so well incorporated into the landscape, you could barely tell it was there!

I loved Caldera at the time, prolly cause it grew on me as my home. Also Sadrith Mora for it's uniqueness.

Oh, and I also love Skingrad and New Sheoth

Seyda Neen, simply because it was my entry point to Tamriel, and Jiub is nearby :shifty:

with the right graphical mods, Seyda Neen's swampy atmosphere is awesome.

Though, like every Morrowind player, I have a special place put aside for Pelagiad :cold:

Wait. Wat. Wtf is that. There was supposed to be a city named Sutch in Oblivion? Why did they take it out? And where did you get that picture?
Anyway,
Ald-Ruhn, Caldera, Vivec and Bruma are my favorite cities.

It was removed from the game due to development issues iirc. They didn't have enough time to put it in.

Arena: Any snowy city with grey brick walls and architecture. Don't know why, but I'm just a svcker for ancient, snowy settings in old games. Pretty much everything in Skyrim falls under this, and I'm hoping we something similar in urbanization should we ever return to this province.

Daggerfall: Sentinel! Aside from the majestic palace, it also has some very nice attractions - ponds, displays of flowers, other details that appear to have been hand-placed by the developers and for the most part ignored in the capitols of Daggerfall and Wayrest. The building layouts also are much more chaotic and realistic, though I attribute that to the fact many of the desert buildings are less square.

Morrowind: Balmora has sheer nostalgia factor, and I love how modular and easily decorated Hlaalu architecture is. The lanterns and banners swaying in the wind are also very moody at night. I also like the small outlying Telvanni colonies (by each Tel- tower), and Mournhold (because my favorite color is GREEEEEEEN).

Oblivion: Bruma, no doubt! Very cozy, reminds me of Arena's and Daggerfall's cities. Anvil also gets a mention for the Redguard architecture and amazing lighting.

Daggerfall: Two way tie between Sentinel and Wayrest. A close third is Umbaaqwa, a random town in Sentinel that I have been spending a lot of time in. Quaint little place, I may buy a house there when I get the dough.

Morrowind: Gnisis, my favorite char is a legionaire, so it's a natural fit. Iv'e always been in love with the frontier fort town attitude of Gnisis. A close second is Vivec, simply because the first time I played Morrowind, I looked at the clock and saw 4:00 AM, and I was just realizing how vast Vivec is. I think I had a huge smile on my face.

Oblivion: Chorral, mostly because I love the NPC's here. This place feels so much more alive than any other city in the game. Plus, I just love the atmosphere. Imperial City gets an hounerable mention as I find myself always doing things there. Plus, it's quite big.

I really liked Sadrith Mora and Balmora. There was nothing special about Balmora, but it is one of the biggest parts of the early game in Morrowind. I would have to say my favorite city of all is Anvil. I love the docks. Its just a nice, quiet seaport. As far as other Oblivion cities, I really like Skingrad. I also like Cheydinal and Leyawinn, but there are two things that make them both bad. First, I hate racists, and love Argonians by the way, so that takes Leyawinn and Cheydinal out. Second, I hate Dunmer. Ha ha, racist I know. Of course, with a simple assassination, Leyawinn is just fine.

I'm in complete agreement here. Gnisis is great. Everything fits the frontier concept, the hastily assembled fort that is little more than a gatehouse, the shabby stalls around the temple, the ill equipped orsimer irregulars, legion officers billeted at the tradehouse, a rube with no trousers standing in a river. So much thought was put into the settlements of Morrowind and how they had been built up and developed over time.

I'm still waiting to see what Kvatch will be like but their fire service must have one hell of a militant union leader because they've been on strike for months now.

Oh... how depressing. Thanks for the heads up though.

If they keep going on like this there wont be any settlements left in Colovia soon.
