Nightblades or Pilgrims. I think that's stealth-magic and combat-stealth.

Or just swinging away with a battle axe!

I love to incorporate an Assassins Creed type combat into my game. I sneak, I spy, I kill.

I've even got the Ezio suit mod in my game.

I usually throw a banana peel at the ground, then i throw a fireba-... tin can in my opponents face, and then when he runs towards me he slips and breaks his spine.

Seriously though, I usually use either magic, or a mix of magic/combat. I love spellcasting in every fantasy rpg, but there's nothing better than both throwing fireballs and smacking people with a hammer, or slashing them with a sword.

Magic for me. I like debilitating my enemies with damage strength/agility/endurance spells taht work over long period of time, slowly sapping life, or just a slow poison. And in the meantime, I summon a daedra or two to keep the adversary occupied while my spells do their subtle work. and in case things go nasty, there are always some elemental spells.

I have to say magical combat. I mean, magic is awesome, there are some offensive spells you can make that are quite devastating, as well as some stuff to buff yourself for combat pretty well. I mean, hitting a guy with a warhammer and killing him is fun, shooting him and killing him in a blaze of fire is fun, but using magic to fortify your strength enough to wield Stendarr's hammer so you can bash skulls while levitating through the sky behind your elemental shields of awesome? It's awesome.

Stealth is always a bit too slow paced, but can be fun when role-playing certain characters.

Also, no combat can be incredibly fun and interesting as well - it forces you to try stuff you might not have ever known existed. I've beaten all of the mages guild recommendation quests with a pacifist character - didn't attack anything (myself). Try it. It's hard, but incredibly fun when you think of crazy ways to overcome the challenges you face.

Me? I don't really like all that magic stuff. I like to bash their wussy mage skulls in with a warhammer, I guess i'm just old-fashioned like that...

I often prefer martial combat with some stealth and acrobatics in for good measure. A lot of my characters end up being fighter/rogues, swashbuckler type characters, or rangers.

Magic mostly. I only use swords as backup. There's nothing more delighting than blowing an enemy to dust with a variety of ludicrously powerful spells.

My favorite characters in both MW and OB used Marksmanship to take down or at least soften up opponents from ambush; once "cover was blown", they finished the task at hand mainly with a melee weapon, adding in an occasional weak spell at appropriate moments. In Morrowind, I had to stop using bows because the one character's other skills were falling far behind it, and his armor skills were best described as "negligible" at Level 15. Oblivion's notorious scalable NPCs eventually gained hitpoints to the extent that the bow almost became a moot point; what's a few dozen hitpoints gone before contact when they've all got hundreds?

Yup..Melee combat for me.

Magic in Oblivion was a little blah..never tried it in Morrowind.
Though, Stealth in Oblivion was a step up from Morrowind.

But, I prefer to play as a Warrior!

My ideal character would pass over his victims like a soft, silent breeze, and peacefully they'd fall to the ground before they realized they were dead. One by one. Like peddles caught in the wind.

Magical combat. But the magic is mostly just healing and a few other minor spells. I mostly rely on an enchanted blade to defeat my enemies.
