A lightning bolt to the face followed up by a claymore to the head! Telvanni style... :chaos:

I summon Storm Atronach until the opponent die, and usually fly above the enemy, as far as possible from him.

Start swinging ye old Skull crusher and ask questions later.

Like "Who the [censored] was that guy, and why was he naked?"

Fling a couple of fireballs in their general direction, then stab them to death with a short sword. :flame:

Magic for me!

Nothing says "I loath you" quite like a paralysis spell, ;)
gives you all the time in the world for something REALLY nasty! :flamethrower:

Sneaking, but I don't mind using a little magic (I was a nightblade in OB)

Well, first I'll summon up a helper. This is pretty much just to practice Conjuration; I want to get to where I can call a Golden Saint successfully more than half the time.

Next, if the opponent is far enough away, I'll shoot a spell at him. Usually it's the one I have which causes Weakness to Fire along with fire damage. Doing this causes my helper, and the companion I usually have with me, to close with the enemy. If they engage him, I stand back and let them go at it rather than risk a friendly fire incident. If the enemy goes around them and approaches me, I'll start swinging my weapon (whichever one I'm practicing at the time) until I'm damaged, then I switch to Absorb Health. Ideally, I finish the battle fully healed.

Other: poisonous combat, first ranged then melee.

Magic is more meaningful and fun in TES3, while close combat seems more brutal and fun in TES4. Haven't played them in years atm, though :)

That depends. I do have a master wizard with some truly insane spells (absorb health 50pts for 2 seconds 25ft on target, paralyse for 10 secs and summon Golden Saint on touch, weakness to fire 50pts and fire damage 50pts on touch) and using those three combined with a constant magicka regen means I'm totally indestructible.

Magic, although my mages are not scared to pull out a shortsword and go to town if the situation fits (I voted Magic only, however). Magic provides all the answers one would need. Elemental spells at longer ranges, if enemies get too close then daedra are less than happy (but they still have to do it anyways! :) ) to help.

And who says I need to fight when being an unnoticeable ripple in the air is such an easy alternative?

My favorite is to stealth combat first if I can against whichever opponent, and then combat melee the rest of the way. Oh yea, also to shoot fire spells in their direction if I have any in substitute for stealth combat at first.

Really, it depends on what mood I'm in when I start a new game. Sometimes I like to be the stealthy archer, killing foes from the shadows. Other times, I like to be a power housed thief who used his claymore and picklock to get the job done.

I use stealth when I can, but I don't rely on it. For me it's all about mace + shield. Nothing like some good ol' fashioned blunt force trauma.

I enjoy magic/stealth classes, like Witchhunters and Nightblades. Both are weaker than pure combat on their own, but when combined are quite potent--the combination of stealth ability and illusion spells, of bows and destruction or acrobatics and levitation or slowfall are all powerful as well as a bunch of fun.

I like all, really, depending on my mood. Stealth and magic are nice, but I also like to get right in with my warhammer. That's always fun. But I still probably use stealth the most, and I've always leveled up fast because of sneak.
