the double barrel from point lookout is ok, not perfect though. i much prefer firing the chinese assault rifle, or its unique counterpart.

as for big guns, the gatling laser outperforms the minigun all the way. the ammo is easy to come by, but the tesla cannon takes one of those rounds and makes it devastating. though i still dont even use those guns much for my current character. the energy weapos on the other hand, i sometimes use the plasma rifles i scavenge off of enclave troops, if not ill take any weapon i find, mainly though i use laser rifles, a decent weapon, but plasma rifles are better.

for sidearms, i use paulson's revolver, a decent weapon, but it is made all more dangerous if you get close to your target. the scoped .44 is ok, but the unique is FAR better, or rather uniques...

as far as the normal assult rifle goes, ill use it for perforator supplies, the assault rifle is ok for a few levels, but the chinese assult rifle outperforms it.

What guns are missing?

My fav small guns are Lincoln's Repeater (on the list) and Sydney's SMG (not on the list).

My fav EW weapons aren't on the list (Smuggler's End and Autumn's laser pistol and A3-21's PR).

I won't vote for a vanilla weapon in place of the unique I prefer because generally speaking the uniques are so much better than their vanilla counterparts. That's why I prefer them. The only weapon I commonly use that is the exception to that is the vanilla 10mm SMG. It works as well as Sydney's it's DMG just tops out at a lower number.

I chose Chinese Assault Rifle, Plasma Rifle, and Gatling Laser.

I prefer the Unique variants of them, those being:

Chinese Assault Rifle: Xuanlong Assault Rifle

Plasma Rifle: A3-21 Plasma Rifle

Gatling Laser: Vengeance

Out of them all, the Xuanlong Assault Rifle gets used almost all the time, regardless of enemies faced. In fact, I altered my current play-through to get it as early as possible.

hard choice but Definatly the Chinese assualt rifle i miss that little baby in NV. tri beam laser. Fat man, who doesnt love the fat man.

Small Guns- this is a tough one, I almost went for the Terrible/Combat Shotgun but decided to vote for the Chinese Assault Rifle as it's a much more useful over longer ranges. Lack of a proper assault rifle like this is one of the things I miss most in New Vegas.

Energy Weapons- I went for the Tri-Beam Laser. It's immensely powerful and had a cool black paint job. I'd probably have gone for the Metal Blaster had it been there, but the Tri-Beam is the closest thing.

Big Guns- never use them, but I went for the Heavy Incinerator simply as it does so much damage when used against me. I used it once as an emergency measure to take take down three Reavers all running at me at once. Good times.

Infiltrator, Mesmetron, and Flamer.

I love me some slavin'!! And if I can't get a collar on them, or a stealth head-shot, then I'm a'burnin' their asses up!

I like the hunting rifle. Always gets the job done.

I dont know it is better in FNV than in F3.

I'd have to rank them in terms of giving the best game-play.

Three guns I use, and they depend on the situation.

Hunting Rifle ... long range.

Scoped Magnum ... mid and short range, great for a close snap shot as well.

Combat Shotgun ... for close up blasting.

So, I don't use energy weapons or big guns ... but picked Llazer Ppistol and Rocket Launcher ... cos I had to vote there.

Where's the Xuanlong Assault Rifle?

It looks like the OP just put the regular versions of the weapons in the poll. Since it is just a beefed-up Chinese Assault Rifle I just chose that and said Xuanlong Assault Rifle in my previous post. The Xuanlong is actually my favourite weapon in all three categories.
