Dark elves. Why? Because they are all cynical [censored]s, like myself :tops:

Argonian is my favorite, followed closely by Khajiit.

Nord, because I like everything about them and I'll play a warrior type like I mostly do.

Altmer, I think they are the best offensive mages. In morrowind Altmers with the Apprentice birthsign were the best.

Argonian hands down, for their incredibly cool looks and unbelievably interesting history.

I can't really decide between Redguard and Breton, I like them both. If I had to choose though I would probably pick Breton due to the fact that I like to play as battle mage type classes.

Dunmer, hands down. They're sinister- yet highly intelligent. They make great assassins.

Filthy beast races. Good for nothing but a Kajiit fur rug and Argonian skin boots... and a belt.

In reality, I've always been heavily influenced by D&D's "Forgotten Realms" character: Drizzt Do'Urden

This sounds weird, but I pick either Nord or Imperial because I want to make a character that looks like me (a 27 yo white dude). I have a harder time getting into the game if I play other races, because I look at the character and dont see myself in it. Perhaps its a lack of imagination :nope:

Wow, I mean, Argonians are normally one of the highest voted as favorite race, but damn, they're excelling right now.

Redguards are my favorite by far. Their history is great, their pantheon is awesome, their general culture and society is rich and interesting. Plus, I've never made a Redguard that I haven't liked. I think Redguards wouldn't be as un-liked if more people actually played Redguard. Cyrus is enough to make Redguards my favorite, but then there's the bonus of how awesome they are in general.

Wish I could vote for Khajiit + Argonian altogether. These two races are one of the strongest reasons I love TES.

If I'm not Dunmer, I'm a Nord/Imperial for that exact reason.

I like Khajiits because of their anarchistic nature.

Well, due to their unique history, being the only mixed race in game, and because of ther excellent racial abilities, I like Bretons.

I do however, plan on playing Nords, and a Redguard in Skkyrim.

During character creation, I will choose Breton, but Sibyl, my shamaness, has a background story in which she has a Nord father, and a Breton mother.
Thus, she gets the Breton racial skills, but will be raised in the Nord culture.

Bretons are just all-around pretty cool blokes... :foodndrink:. But, they finish as runner-up to the, obviously, Bosmer in my book ...

The Argonians are so popular without even having a game set in Black Marsh :foodndrink: I think the way they were designed in Oblivion boosted the popularity quite a lot. But I'd like more animalic looks and especially the body... come on...

Never played an Elder Scrolls game yet, but I'm getting Olivion soon, and I love Argonians so far. So... yeah, I guess those guys.

Orcs, because they always get treated like they're all dumb, smelly, ugly monsters incapable of being trusted with a task that involves anything other than bashing someone's head in.

Granted, that IS their specialty, but their potential is so untapped, even in Elder Scrolls. Even my fellow Orc users, when asked why they play them respond with stuff like this:

I like Orc cause I like smash stuff.

:shakehead:

Khajiits and Argonians may get enslaved by the Dunmer, but at least they've had their own provinces since the days when those Dunmer were called Chimer. Throughout history, every time Orcs tried to set up shop, someone had to come and tear it down or lose thousands of lives trying to. For what? The comfort of knowing those "smelly green-skinned buffoons" were secluded to caves in the mountains?

Even in the end of the Third Era, Orsinium was not allowed to stand as it's own province. I don't know what it's like now, but I don't imagine the situation for them has improved.

Orcs are called the Pariah Folk, and I don't think they deserve that. Not because they can cleave your head in two, but because a real Orc won't do that without a reason.

Dunmer, Bretons, and Bosmer are my favorites. But, I don't much like playing a Dunmer in OB because of the generic Mer voice, so Nords usually take their place.

I'll vote Bosmer on this poll, as they don't get many votes.

Also, I still don't understand the Argonian appeal. As far as I can tell, most people just think they look cool, can some Argonian fans give me a detailed run down on why they like them other than "LIZARDZ FTW!!"?

Bretons and Altmer. I tend to alternate between these two from game to game. My last Oblivion character was an Altmer, so it's probably time for a breton. Magic is where it's at in fantasy. Without magic, I need guns.

God tier: Redguards and Orismer
Top tier: Dunmer and Argonians
Mid tier: Altmer and Nords
Low tier: Imperials, Bretons and Khajiit
[censored] tier: Bosmer

If you look up "badass" in the dictionary you'll see a picture of a Redguard, and nothing tops an Orc battlemage. Bretons and Bosmer definitely have potential and will move up at least one tier if they're not pictured as complete pussies in Skyrim.

When I was first introduced to the Elder Scrolls I loved the Argonians because I was well seven and thought anything associated with a lizard was awesome. Nowadays it is the Khajiit, nothing like a precious kitty.
