What's your favorite residence?

What is your favorite residence in Skyrim? (It doesn't have to be a proper house)

Is there a residence you aquire with almost every build? For me it is Honeyside - I just can't stay away from it. I think its really just about 6/10 of the time get Honeysde for my primary home, but I tend to load those saves more and just spend time chilling there doing stupid stuff like decorating, eating on the porch, and playing hide & seek in the market.

The size and floorplan of Honeyside reminds me of the house in Bruma which I also loved. I think "cozy" is the best term to describe it. Especially when populated with a spouse, housecarl and kid or two it has a nice feel.

The other city homes are all nice. And Hearthfire is great - except I can't ever resist the urge to expand my cottage into a sprawling estate.

Honeyside just gets it right and I can't really screw it up with expansion.

The Riften one is nice, but other than that I prefer the homes you can build with Hearthfire.

Hjerim for me. It may be a depressing city, but it has everything I need in the market area. A fence, enchanter, smelter, blacksmith, and an alchemists.

The house is pretty comfy too, lots of space.

Windstad Manor. Dat view of the best city in Skyrim from the rear Alchemy Tower. Also the extreme usefulness of the Fish Hatchery.

As far as the vanilla homes i do like homeyside. But im partial to the hearthfire homes. Sitting on the porch looking at the lake at Lakeview Manor is nice

lol, I was thinking: homeyside -> homicide

I've built the Windstadt (sp?) manor for my Argonian because its kind of marshy and that might be my favorite HF location. I just can't keep myself from building a megaplex with HF.

I guess I gotta get more disciplined :)

Just last week I discovered that I could use a certain place as the free home of my dreams. It has enchanting table, alchemy lab, smithy, private room with storage, lots of beds to keep my thralls and a cool word wall deco. Only thing is, I have to kick out a certain "family" that inhabits the place first. Best "free home" in the game. Cannot believe that I missed this place after all this time, but my playthrough are usually of the type where I like the folks who inhabit the place.

The format is {spoiler} secrets {/spoiler} except it uses square brackets...

I just love Riften; don't know why. Can't stand Markarth

Again, who knows why? I just go with it.

Re: Windhelm (Hjerim)

I had forgotten that you must do the Civil War, one way or the other, to get that home!

So currently my level 75 guy doesn't have it.

Well he has the key, and sleeps there and gets well rested, and even has a storage chest, all for free.

Just don't look into the secret room, though... yikes! Gross.

Could be worse. Like not having the option to go kill them for their loot once in a while. Or just to stay in shape. You need to keep those skills sharp you know. So much easier when the practice range is a short walk from your home

Angi's Camp. Nice location and so secluded. I recently noticed that when in the camp you can rotate 360 degrees without anything showing up in the compass. I don't know how many places there are that this can be done or if Angi's camp is the only place remote enough.
