What is your favorite way to play Skyrim?

Hi, I'm curious to see which style of play people prefer, is it assassin? Warrior? Mage? Combination?

Feel free to share :)

1. Tracker/Cartographer class(Male Nord): Scaled Armour w/Hide Shield, Ancient Nordic War Axe/Imperial Bow. Alchemy for Healing potions and Damage Health poisons.
He lives off-the-grid, exploring and hunting. No MQ and no Factions. Misc questing only.
2. Vindictor class(Female Redguard): Steel Plate, Ebony Greatsword, Destruction and Restoration.
She's my tank, doing MQ and a few Faction quests.
3. Seeker class(Female Breton): Enchanted Robes and clothing, Elven Dagger, defensive and restorative spells.
Studious little gal interested in Restoration and Alchemy. College member who lends a helping hand here and there, but mostly keeps to herself.
4. Had a 4th character, Male Bosmer Hunter/Thief, but he died fishing (drowned under the ice).

I have different builds for different gaming aspects. Through each the game is revealed, as no single character should be a do-it-all.

My first character is a male Nord, warrior/conjuration/archer, then I started a new character Khajit thief/assassin, the game is different for every style of play!

Explorer/Sellsword

Strictly exploring and mapping, I'm not following any main quest line.
I only do quests I stumble upon by talking to strangers.

Doh, nvm. I was gonna say with an ice cold bier in hand, and sitting in the recliner with some tunes going or perhaps a football game in the background....

but, seriously, I focus more on the side quests and exploring than the actual MQ line. Extends the game for me....and it also makes me more of a jackofalltrades. I am a sword and board melee type roguish mage with tremendous side skills like smithing or the like.

Class: Smuggler (stealth archer)

Race: Khajit

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Difficulty: Master

Restrictions:

- I will not use magic of any kind, nor learn spells from books (exception: special staves such as Wabbajack, Sanguine's Rose, etc)
- Avoid fast travelling when feasible, if I have to I'll use the travel-caravans outside the city
- No companions, they make it too easy.
- No perks in light armor; basically if I'm seen and engaged I'll die
- (Crafting) I won't buy ingredients from merchants-- I only use what I find via hunting, gathering, and mining
- I try to sleep 1x/day for a few hours and eat 2x-3x times per 24 hrs
- I won't go too far evil or too far good, I try to stay in the middle and look for the best profits

Emphasis: Maxed out archery and stealth, I'm going to get pickpocketing up to "poisoner," and I'll use this method to complete Dark Brotherhood quests (make it look like an "accident")

Not really, I made sure that I avoided certain enemies at low levels (like giants, mammoths, sabers, etc). If an enemy saw me, I'd run like hell and then hide in the shadows, then try again. Stealth is a lot more fun when you have to stay hidden to survive.

Assassin with a bow. They get too close and I use conjuration to summon something then back off. If that doesn't work I pull out Mehrunes Dagger and start drinking health potions.

I used to just fast travel everywhere and do a lot of quests. Now I roam the land and I've found a ton of stuff I would have normally missed. Orc warrior/mage. I'm not good at being a thief of at sneaking for that matter. Been trying to stay away from MQ and been trying to clear out my miscellaneous quest log. My favorite thing to do is fight dragons. I hope dragons stick around after Skyrim, they are AWESOME.

Orc sellsword. Pure warrior, wears armor that has been passed down through his family for generations. Proficient in all weapon types though he prefers his Glass Battleaxe. Will do whatever needs doing as long as there is coin or the promise of treasure involved.

Conjuration mage/Destruction is a fairly power character. Being able to summon to 2 frost/storm atronachs, or daedra lords and wearing enchanted cloths so your destruction spells cost nothing is almost godly in this game.

I ended up with a hot looking female Nord warrior :) She's a strict melee type, focusing on one-hand, block, heavy armor and blacksmithing. I use my bow for all ranged attacks, haven't touched destruction spells at all. I'm not into the sneaky assassintype at all, and the magic isn't really too appealing either. I was a mage in WoW for 4 years, so the magic in Skyrim gets too boring when it comes to rotations and visual effects :)

I use a lot of potions during demanding fights, and am leveling my enchanting at the moment for even better armor. I'm a one character type of girl, so this Nord warrior will probably be the only character I'll ever play Skyrim with.

Race: Male Dunmer

Class: Adventurous trader/Labourer

Alignment: Neutral

Skill focus: Speech, Enchanting, Smithing, Alchemy

Restrictions:
- No perks in any skill tree except for the skills mentioned above.
- Pickaxe, Woodsman's axe are the only weapons allowed. (and no shields!)
- Clothes and Fur armor are the only type of armor allowed.
- No magic allowed other than shouts / Racial power / Scrolls and staves untill they run out of juice.
- Allowed to upgrade the above mentioned weapons with alchemy, smithing and enchanting. (But no extreme overpowering them with the alchem.-smith.-ench. combo)

Notes:
This entire character is based one a single mod: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2318

Reason i like this one:
It's a hell of a challenge! :) the basic armor and weaponry forces me to rely on the shout system, which in turn levels my speech skill, which in turn gives my shouts more possibilities.
Plus it's fun feeling like you can actually "speak" the dragons language instead of roaring single words :)

I used to be 2H, but the reduced blocking and the slow weapon swing made me switch to 1H :P. there's one shout I never understood though.. the shout where dragonborn conjures a voice that insults enemies lol

My current character is a recreation of one I created in Oblivion, based on the 'Witchers' from the title of the same name.

He's a Nord Demon Hunter, originally kidnapped from Skyrim and 'created' around the time of the Oblivion crisis (in my back story he was mutated similarly to witchers using secrets stolen from kaer Morhen).
After that was sorted he went on making a living however he could, which culminated in him working for the empire assassinating Thalmor officers during the great war. After the peace treaty was signed he carried on killing them, and so had to be denounced by the emperor. With authorities chasing him he fled to Skyrim, and that's where it starts.. (it also gives me a reason to follow through with the DB questline). The reason he's still around after more than 200 years is attributed to the mutations in his backstory; I 'realised' these by using the console to give him the histskin racial ability to represent enhanced regenerative abilities.

Based on that, it's quite an 'odd' build in the sense that I use heavy armour, but also focus on sneak; my sneak is good enough I can do whatever in heavy armour with no detrimental effect.

Other main skills are:

-archery
-one handed (using a single Skyrforge steel sword [legendary] and no shield)
-alchemy
-pickpocket (to plant the poisons on people created through alchemy)

currently this build gives me a lot of options in the sense that I can go all out in combat as a warrior, or stick to the shadows and pick enemies off using archery. It largely depends on how many enemies there are, and how strong they are. As far as the type of armour used, I stick generally to the Nordic steel armour, because it looks the least restrictive on movement, and that would ultimately be beneficial to my character from an RP perspective. I am considering getting hold of the Ebony mail though, as that looks more protective while still relatively unrestrictive.
