Why, Greek Fire of course. Most innovational development in warfare until actual gunpowder IMO.

That or scorpion bombs because lets face it, those are just uber-cool sounding.

Probably the single most complex, expensive, densely packed, weapon of war capable of eliminating several dozen targets in minutes without anybody ever knowing. I speak, of course, of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seawolf_class_submarine.

In close second are the weapons that contributed the main reason that the Cold War never turned into a direct conflict.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_class_submarine, and their predecessors, were the reason nuclear deterrence worked and still works. Missile silos on the ground can be targeted, and watched; but nobody knows where the SSBNs are except for the fact that they are always somewhere close, and always ready. You can't plan a nuclear war if fully one third of the enemy's nuclear weapons are invisible and unpredictable.

As far as firearms go I like revolvers. No one in particular. Although I like the idea of old cap and ball revolvers, like the famous 1851 Navy revolver that Wild Bill and a dozen other noteworthy and famous old timers like him used. It's a very methodical, personal weapon. Just watch all the steps you have to go through to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuyryalXfpE.

Can't say I like rifles though, especially not the AR-15. I do not enjoy firing that weapon at all, and the M9 pistol for that matter. Both come off a too clunky for my tastes.

Why? "The aircraft is designed to fly with one engine, one tail, one elevator and half a wing torn off." Because that just kind of sounds cool.

Yeah, I think the story goes that they made the gun first, and then said "make an airplane around this".

FAE (Fuel Air Explosive) bomb. It's the closest thing to a mini-nuke and there's no radiation in the aftermath.

Also on of the hardest to clean due to the bolt having so many pieces. At least, that's what my dad told me, he got to fire them when he was in Iraq and talking to French soldiers.

My favourite weapon the most powerful weapon ever detonated.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsar_Bomba <- 50* megatons of pure pwnage.

*originally designed to be 100 megatons but was reduced to 50 megatons to limit the resulting nuclear fallout. :nuke:

"Since 50 Mt is 2.1×1017 joules, the average power produced during the entire fission-fusion process, lasting around 39 nanoseconds, was about 5.4×1024 watts or 5.4 yottawatts (5.4 septillion watts). This is equivalent to approximately 1.4% of the power output of the Sun." :shocking:
