What is your "Go To" gun?

Modded Combat Shotgun. Advanced Reciever, hits real hard, Long barrell and the large bayonet make it an excellent room cleaner. I like my 50%+ on Ghouls, Ghoulslayer 10mm, again fully modded, as well. Just picked up the good Pipe Wrench, I may have to retire the sledge.

Depends on the situation

Long Range.....Maxed Out .308 Combat Rifle Overseer's Guardian, hands down the best sniper rifle for me in the game, although I have just got my hands on a Gauss rifle.

Medium Range (non Vats).......Maxed out .45 Automatic Combat Rifle (with Bayonet) with 25% more damage for when I want to go full auto at groups of enemies.

Short Range and Stealthing in Buildings and VATS.......10mm pistol Deliverer (also maxed out) the King of VATS, literally allows you to headshot a platoon the number of shots you get in VATS.

I deem that weapon the "Overtly Compensator".

My "Wounding" Double barrel shotgun....with long barrel, full stock, advanced receiver and choke....it wrecks Deathclaws and Sentry-bots.

Depends on my playthroughs because I still specialize in only a few traits for my characters and build classes, despite them not quite existing like they use to.

My go to for my stealth characters is a powerful sniper or the Guass Rifle

For my more tactically assess, but still just a gun n shoot, are guns like the shotgun or melee weapons

From a distance, a hardened tactical hunting riffle with upgraded sights, for up close a hardened tactical combat shotgun that does about 138 damage, and for muties, a plasma pistol that gets a huge bonus against them. For dispatch in ghouls and raiders, a unique 10 MM pistol that I can't remember the name of

Two Shot Advanced 10mm Pistol and Eddie's Peace. Still grinding the wastes to find a two shot or a rapid .44. Man I miss New Vegas' guns; That Gun, Lucky, Maria, .45 Auto, Ranger Sequoia, 12.7mm Pistol, Lever Action rifle, pump action shotgun, Brush Gun. *sigh*

Combat Rifle, kitted out with a Dot Sight.

People gush about the Assault Rifle, but from Raider to Deathclaw, there's nobody my Annabelle can't dance with.

Depends on the situation; but I usually run around with my Fully-Auto Laser Rifle, if I have enough cells. If not, usually my p-shooter (Auto Pipe Rifle). I re-rolled so I'm starting over and haven't found anything worth it yet.

Rapid probably doesn't exist. I created one via the console and the rapid prefix does not improve the fire-rate in any case, which is true for other bolt action and revolver style weapons, or the gauss rifle. I finally got a two-shot .44 as drop and it is my favorite weapon. I even dropped the red dot sight because i thought for quick-aiming it proved more accurate without.

Two shot seems to be the go-to prefix for me for everything but the gauss rifle. Rapid is enjoyable but only promoted ammo waste

I like the idea of naming weapons based off TES and Fallout tropes. 'Stop right there!' made me laugh.

WOW! Someone just mod the Sequoia with 45-70 swc rounds already. That's about a as stupid as power armor mods not working in third person. OMG how did qa miss huge things like this?

^ This. That weapon rocks hard. Specially once you max out Commando perk and all the crit damage multiplier perks. When the stuff really hits the fan and you need mega stopping power (short of needing a nuke), this is the one I reach for.

Right now second playthrough, lvl 18, Spray n Pray is just devastating...have to see if it keeps up at higher levels...otherwise when I can it will probably be a fully modded silenced combat shotgun again..

Go to is my lucky 10mm with all the upgrades and a recon scope. Its been ridiculously lucky even before it's legendary attribute. So many longshot bomb hits against suiciders. So many blinding headshots and crippled limbs.

Semi-Auto Suppressed Combat Shotgun fully modded, at level ~40 with Rifleman 4, does about 150 damage.

This.

I use this 90% of the time if not more. It is the perfect weapon for long range sniping, but also fires quite fast enough that I can use it to take out enemies charging me. Note however that I never use VATS, so that may color my perspective. I am also well into the game and can afford to buy ammo for it. For the earlier game, I also used the Overseer's Guardian, but kept it using .45 ammo.

I also have a 'two shot' gauss rifle that I found (now 'that' was a eureka moment). However the ammo for that is sufficiently tight, that I take it out only for behemoths, and sentry and assaultron robots. Oh, and the Mirelurk queen, which took four whole shots.

I have several, depending on what my available ammo.

Party Popper
My explosive 10mm auto pistol.

Jack
My ripper that does more damage with consecutive hits.

Bloodletter
My wounding shotgun.

Arty
My explosive minigun.

Nighthawk
My nocturnal .44 maggy. If you like yours then you'll like this. I have 1 point in the pistol perk. At the nights darkest point it does 240+ damage. So yea

For my sniper, I have a .50 cal silenced sniper rifle with a medium scope, named after my girlfriend. It's got a freeze effect that can create truly mesmerising results...

Probably my favourite personal weapon from any Fallout game.

level 30, gun nut 3, science 1

-deliverer (suppressed, advanced receiver, glow sights, marksman grip and kept the short barrel and small mag (quick eject) purely for looks)

-overseer's guardian (long ported barrel, .308 receiver, large quick eject mag, recoil compensating stock, suppressor, reflex site) i dont have high enough mod perk to make this normally but luckily found the parts i needed on other guns as loot :)

-combat shotgun (long shielded barrel, quick eject drum mag, recoil compensating stock, reflex site, advanced receiver, no muzzle mod i like the range kept and if im using this then well i dont need the suppressor cause ive been found)

-hunting rifle (.50cal receiver, long ported barrel, marksman stock, large quick eject mag (not needed but is there for later), suppressor, long recon scope, has the never ending legend effect) think will switch out to short recon scope though as finding the long too much in the urban areas (whereas my previous medium scope was perfectly fine inside and urban)

only just stopped carrying a sword (i had a serrated cavaliers revolutionary sword, serrated electrified chinese officers sword and general chows city chicken to choose from but i decided i really had to get real with weight being such a bigger consideration in this version, dont have any blacksmith or melee perks so had to use mods i found and was only carrying them for coolness factor not use, wish they would show when sheathed too and i might still keep one on me lol)

havnt had any luck with legendary weapons, i have a high luck (8) so run across tonnes of legendary enemies but although ive had some good armour all the weapon drops have been crap so far, the never ending on my sniper rifle is pointless but why not i guess plus its easier not to accidentally sell/store when it has that star next to it lol

in 3/NV i carried tonnes of guns especially NV i carried so many just for their differences in use but also for looks/sounds and some i just loved the model of (i used up all my save slots just for doing screenshots of my char n guns haha!) including a bunch of knives n swords that id never use but in 4 i find the weapons bland and meh plus ofcourse there is very few different ones, yes yes plasma shotgun/sniper/auto/rifle/pistol etc etc but they are the same weapon modded different they all look the same to me id rather have 3 different guns that perform the same (lets say m16/g36/ak74) rather than one gun that can do 3 different things but looks the same, i dont like the style of them and their insane weight values keeps my collection small which is prob a good thing for loot but mind you those 4 guns im carrying probably equal the same weight as my entire arsenal in NV!

even the deliverer is very very heavy for what looks like a walther ppk

dont use energy weapons i just like ballistic much better

Was once a fully-modded laser musket which I named 'Old Glory', but she was retired for a fully-modded long range combat rifle which I call my 'Field Rifle'. I also carry a .50 cal sniper with the name 'The Lieutenant'.

Just found a Railway Rifle though, and so once I gather up enough spikes, that will probably be my go-to weapon.
