What is your opinion about the Brotherhood of

The Brotherhood is my favorite faction of all time.. I can't wait for Bethesda to release Fo4. Then we'll see how they are holding up.

Well Lyon's Brotherhood didn't share technology... I say we should add the Outcasts to the list.

West- OK

Mid West- AWESOME

Lyon's- Heroes

Outcasts- Douchy (not as much as the West)

they dont share tech for a reason, so people dont fight over it and innocent people die.

Western Brotherhood horde Tec and they don't share. They are willing to kill/start wars over it. There was a time when they got along with other factions like the Shi and NCR.

MWBoS do let in outsiders but they also have deathcamps and they take control of towns and cities and demand payment for "protection" mostly their "best and brightest" for training. They do share tech but only to those they control.

DC BoS, Lyons, well I think people don't like them because Beth made them White Knights and we are forced into helping them even if our characters hate the BoS.

about the demand for payment and death camp parts i dont even know where you got that from. all the brotherhoods job is is to preserve tech so people dont fight over it and most of the people they start wars with are planning to do something bad.

Fallout Tactics

The Brotherhood was having a big debate. Alot of them wanted new blood (new members). Elders came up with an idea. Send those within the brotherhood away on a mission to follow what was left of the Masters Armies East. They built zeppelins despite warnings that there was a great chance they would run into a storm and be destroyed. So they were built and those that wanted change were sent over the Rockies. . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFV1QvnLVsM intro.

MWBoS do have deathcamps/Labour Gulags they are mentioned during the game and they do take people as payment also talked about in the game.

Edit: before someone says "Tactics is not Canon." Bethesda has said the High-Level events of Tactics are Canon. Also MWBoS were talked about in FO3, Tactics created the MWBoS. Events of Tactics take place after FO1 but before FO2.

That depends on what you mean?

Western BoS? In Fallout 1, I found them as gruff knights, not white knights, but knights. As F2 and F:NV rolled around, I felt they were more or less a snake consuming itself, their own policies choking what little of them is left. I don't HATE the brotherhood, but as time has moved on, I found them to be more and more ridiculous.

Midwestern BoS? I found the events of Tactic's version of the BoS farfetched, but didnt play much of it, I'll reinstall it someday.

Eastern BoS? I think this is how the BoS should be, some may argue 'OMG DIZ NUT FALUT STILE BROTERHUD', but in terms of a lore, the Brotherhood is choking on it's own isolationism, and the Eastern Brotherhood turning into White Knights and trying to help people, I think with the proper push, people like Lyons chapter of the Brotherhood could pull a Mr. House, IE, re-educate, and rehabilitate them from dirty wasters into Pre-Waresque people like out in the West.

The EBoS is the shield behind which a civilization is slowly but surely forming in the Capitol Wasteland. Between them holding the mutants at bay and the LW going around blasting slavers, raiders, mutants, critters, and Talon company mercs wherever they are found, by the time 2300 rolls around the various settlements will probably be strong enough to band together and form a government for the whole region....I could see the EBoS allowing itself to be absorbed into it and becoming the core of it's Army. With the slow death of the WBoS, loss of contact with the Mid-west and the de facto abandonment of thier mission and the Codex, they have already cut themselves off from thier past to protect the people of the CW....may as well join with them and create a new future together. Having future children learning in school about how Elder Lyons and the Lone Wanderer became the Founding Fathers of thier nation and fun trivia facts about how the Army was once called the Brotherhood of Steel sounds like a better future than becoming another collection of bitter losers hiding in a bunker from thier plethora of enemies and waiting for the next Vault Dweller/Chosen One/Lone Wanderer/Courier to come along and put them out of thier misery.

Actually, their main goal is to survive and they ensure it by taking away all the technology that could be used to destroy them.

And they attacked the NCR because they didn't like them sharing and acguiring technology what they thought should belong to them.

Only part about the MWBoS that is Canon is from FO Tactics. They did not go to China (Fallout Extreme) or Texas (BoS) or Florida (Tactics II) because two of those games were never made and one is total none-canon. Bethesda has said that the "High-Level" events of Tactics are canon.

You are right about them having camps.

Indeed Texas never happened. And do not mention the name of the game with the unmentionable name, lest the Fallout Inquisition hear about it.

Its a "High-Level" part of Fallout Tactics :fallout:

There is nothing wrong with Vault Zero. Enclave were the ones behind the Vault experiments. They arn't going to tell everyone else in the government or the american people about their plans. They have the Oil Rig were they can be safe and monitor the vault experiments. Vault Zero is built as the public face of the Vaults. The one where non-enclave government leaders go as well as other noteable people. It can also make contact with the Vaults for rebuilding america. It has the Calculator and Robot army to help take back the lands from raiders and mutations. Enclave are in charge of the funding for the vaults and Vault Zero. They don't give a crap about Vault Zero so they cut the funding to it. Vault Zero is not built right due to the cut backs and therefore cause the Calculator to fail. Super Mutants try to get into the Vault and wake up the calculator.

Mr.House has a giant Robot army so why is it hard to imagine Vault Zero having one? Vault Zero could also just be a nickname for the Complex.

Hate them. Every single one of them.

I do however see a bit of potential in the Outcasts.

The West Coast Brotherhood started with good intentions. They thought that by denying the nuclear survivors of high techonology, they'd be less inclined to repeat the mistakes that led to the Great War. There were even good Elders, such as John Maxson, I always thought of him as a likeable Patton who was like the great-uncle you always wanted. But after he was killed by the Vipers in 2161, they became steadily more elitist and hard-headed to the point of near-extinction by 2281. Their awful attitude permeated the East Coast Outcasts as well.

The Midwest Brotherhood started as a rag-tag band of survivors of a catastrophe over Chicago. But their willingness to acknowledge their lack of resources led to acquiring more manpower from Tribals, Ghouls, conquered Mutants, and the remaining war machines from The Calculator's army. That made them my favorite faction, even though most people don't accept Tactics as canon.

The East Coast Brotherhood made the best of a bad situation in D.C. They were sent to take the Pentagon and any high tech assets with very little manpower and resources after their trek from most-likely the Midwest under orders from the West Coast. However, their situation got precarious because of the large presence of FEV-V87 Super Mutants, which had a 200 year head start in the area, dangerous mutant animals, Slavers, Raiders, and rouge factions such as Talon Company. The situation got so bad as to cause a schism between Elder Lyons' faction and created the Outcasts led by Henry Casdin, who tired of being Sir Lancelot and went back to the ways of the West Coast BOS. They had no choice but to scavenge the supply of T-45D's in the Pentagon, as T-51bs were rare in the D.C. Wasteland. Also like the Midwest BOS, they had to recruit locals to make up for their losses to their many enemies. I like them as well.

East coast Brotherhood all the way, Would you like to have a BOS soldier who would watch you being shot to death by slavers, raiders, mutants or a BOS soldier who would kill them all and save your ass( Maybe even ending up as a BOS soldier one day)...
