East coast Brotherhood all the way, Would you like to have a BOS soldier who would watch you being shot to death by slavers, raiders, mutants or a BOS soldier who would kill them all and save your ass( Maybe even ending up as a BOS soldier one day)...

The first one :D

I really like the Brotherhood of Steel, both East and West. I have only played Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas so I can't comment on anything from the midwest versions. I like the fact that the Elder from each chapter has their own interpretation of their mission. Some are locked into the self destructive scenario of hording technology and defending it to the death. This attitude virtually guarantees that the tech will eventually fall into the hands of maniacs to the detriment of mankind. While other Elders though in the beginning fell into that same trap but eventually were intelligent enough to see that those policies would guarantee the destruction of the brotherhood and in the end would not preserve mankind so they were willing to make peace with former enemies in order to defeat the larger threat. The chapter in Nevada falls into this category. However, I believe that the D.C. Chapter under Elder Lyons had the mission pegged the way it should have been which was to secure technology but also use it to protect the innocents and by that they would be able to grow the chapter by adding recruits from those he saved. He understood that the only way the Brotherhood would be able to confront and stop factions like the Enclave is to increase the size of the Brotherhood and develop new technology from that which he was able to recover.

This is just my take on why I like the BOS.

Fallout is not the real world, so I choose the first one. If it was, I'd probably hide in a hole for the rest of my life or shoot my brains out before raiders get to me, anyway.

To me, the BoS is the Primary Target for Immediate Purging from the DC Wasteland.

I only like the East Coast BoS, because they help the people. The others I do not care much for.

The BoS represent a far graver threat to the safety and security of the DC Wasteland than the combined verminous forces of the Giant Radscorpions (regular and Albino); the Raiders; Deathclaws; The Regulators; Yao-Guai; the Talon Company mercenaries; and the Super Mutants.

How?

Illegal access to the US Military HQ and US Military hardware by members of an organization founded by confirmed deserters of the US Military.

edit: corrected data

West < East

Fixed it for you

The west coast brotherhood is dying do to the fact that they only gave a crap about themselves. They even know the fact that they are dying off, yet they are too stubborn to change.
The East Coast Brotherhood are willing to change and have also helped the capital wasteland to get back on its feet.

That was the Mojave Chapter. We don't know if it effects the Western BoS. They are all over California and have been around since 2077.

That really isn't the reason why they are dying, the reason they went to war with the NCR.

And besides, the West coast is much more badass. They aren't cowards like the ECBoS, they know they are going to die if they don't give up their beliefs, but they rather die than do that.

They should die already, though.

It's far braver to do what is good for other people than to hide in a hole. When you put it like that The West Coast are like the 16th Century Catholic Church or Al Quaieda, too stubborn to change.

IF the East Coast Brotherhood continues they could become something really great. If they don't stop now, and provide water to Megaton and Rivet City things could really improve. Now that the Enclave is gone I don't see why all the human settlements don't join together to form a confederation, with the glue being te BOS. Hell the super mutants are dead, water is flowing, the raiders are largely killed (I killed them :) ), and the caravans could be organized....

There wouldn't be a Capital Wasteland anymore if it wasn't for the Lyons Brotherhood; the Super Mutants and Enclave would have overrun it and killed any who resisted.

The Lyons Brotherhood is now effectively the government of the Capital Wasteland, and as far as Fallout government's go it's one of the most humanitarian and effective ones on the continent.

And the sole reason why this organization of criminals has made itself the government is by their illegal use of US military property to carry out the desecration and destruction of US Government Site R, and the execution of the Last President Of The United States Of America.

I'm starting a Fan-Fic about that, it's the one labled War in my signature.

I really hope things turn out like in my Fan-Fic.

The Brotherhood of Steel is like a crutch that fused to your arm. You needed it at one point, but now it's a problem.

All the BoS are criminal scum, deserving of only one kindness, a swift, painful death.

The East Coast BoS is pretty cool, but the West Coast BoS needs to get their act together. Getting into a war with the NCR was not a good idea.
