What is your platform of choice for Fallout 4?

Not to sound condescending but all you do is plug it in. Even with a PS4 controller. Any xinput controller should be completely plug n play

PC. Just had to buy a new one as my old one actually fried a couple weeks ago, so of course I got one to max out FO4. (still think the wife suspects I did it on purpose somehow).

I just couldn't imagine playing these games without mods. Yeah I know consoles are supposed to get mods now, but you know those mods won't have the freedom as the PC ones. If the mods do work out well with consoles then I might break down and get a console next time. (but I really svck at using a controller on FPS) Getting a new PC every other year gets costly.

My PC would probably explode if I tried to run Fallout 4. That being so, I'll be playing on PS4.

I'll be sticking with Xbox One for now. My PC is in need of a serious upgrade. Once I exhaust everything there is to offer on the console version I'll work on getting my PC up to snuff.

Why are you getting an entire new PC every year? CPU life is [censored] long and a new gpu (980/ti) will last you years yet while still maxing settings.

Edit: and my 500 year old power supply supports dual 980s

PC.

In fact, I built my new PC after Fallout 4 was announced. Because of Fallout 4.

i7 4790K 4.0 ghz, GTX 980TI, 32 GB RAM, and a solid state drive to run the game from. :goodjob: Come Fallout 4. I am ready to see how far past that default "Ultra" I can push you!

I would be interested to see if the production numbers for the CEs match up with these ratios.

As I said, my PC fried. Prior to that I generally just update the card or add RAM as needed, about every other year. Still expensive either way when compared to a $400 console that is good for 4-5 years. Course I'd have to add an HDTV to it ... with surround sound, etc.

I'd be lying if I said buying and maintaining a PC was cheaper than a console, though Steam and GOG sales help with that :P I doubt a 980 or a 980ti would poop out on you for a while yet, however. It's a worthwhile investment, at least in my opinion. I'm semi-elitist jerk though, so probably better not to listen to me lol

When I upgraded my 690 to a 980SC, it felt great. But, now I've got remorse 'cus Pascal is coming sooner than I thought. :dead: The 980TI will be pretty awesome for the next couple years... just worried about Pascal blowing me out of the water.

More than anything, I'm worried about having a micro-ATX with a single PCI-E lane for when DirectX12 and multi-unlinked GPU's really hit. :nope: AMD's compute with Nvidia's Tesselation. I NEED IT.

Edit: could a boutique card maker do a AMD and Nvidia dual chip? :ooo:

PS4! Spending too much money on PC-equipment each year when you can play the game on a console with the exact same performance is something I got tired of.

I'm likely going to just get another 980TI when they drop in price and SLI my rig. Probably be running this set-up for the next 4-5 years.

And I am strangely intrigued by the suggestion of a love child GPU using both AMD and Nvidia tech. All the strengths and none of the weaknesses. We can christen it, AMvidia, and use it to heal divides and bring PC gamers together! :nerd:

I'll give you that. STEAM sells have saved me a lot of money and given me the opportunity to play a lot of old but good games I would have never played on a console. Now that you've mentioned that ... I'm never switching to console. :D

PC. I can build, use, manage and tweaks mods in one place. Plus the game looks and runs way better; load times are miniscule...etc, blah, etc....and I can even bring my controller along for the ride to use the one thing I like about my console when I want it, since Bethesda is gracious enough to support it out of the box. But primarily for the stuff in the first sentence.

PS4 for now at least. My PC barely meets the minimum requirements and I really don't like using the PC unless I'm at least at the recommended requirements, so I'm hoping to have it upgraded by the time the GOTY edition comes out. Moneys tight right now.
