Not to sound condescending but all you do is plug it in. Even with a PS4 controller. Any xinput controller should be completely plug n play
PC. Just had to buy a new one as my old one actually fried a couple weeks ago, so of course I got one to max out FO4. (still think the wife suspects I did it on purpose somehow).
I just couldn't imagine playing these games without mods. Yeah I know consoles are supposed to get mods now, but you know those mods won't have the freedom as the PC ones. If the mods do work out well with consoles then I might break down and get a console next time. (but I really svck at using a controller on FPS) Getting a new PC every other year gets costly.
PC.
In fact, I built my new PC after Fallout 4 was announced. Because of Fallout 4.
i7 4790K 4.0 ghz, GTX 980TI, 32 GB RAM, and a solid state drive to run the game from. Come Fallout 4. I am ready to see how far past that default "Ultra" I can push you!
I would be interested to see if the production numbers for the CEs match up with these ratios.
As I said, my PC fried. Prior to that I generally just update the card or add RAM as needed, about every other year. Still expensive either way when compared to a $400 console that is good for 4-5 years. Course I'd have to add an HDTV to it ... with surround sound, etc.
PS4 here. I just can't be bothered with the PC any more.
When I upgraded my 690 to a 980SC, it felt great. But, now I've got remorse 'cus Pascal is coming sooner than I thought. The 980TI will be pretty awesome for the next couple years... just worried about Pascal blowing me out of the water.

More than anything, I'm worried about having a micro-ATX with a single PCI-E lane for when DirectX12 and multi-unlinked GPU's really hit. AMD's compute with Nvidia's Tesselation. I NEED IT.
Edit: could a boutique card maker do a AMD and Nvidia dual chip?
I'm likely going to just get another 980TI when they drop in price and SLI my rig. Probably be running this set-up for the next 4-5 years.
And I am strangely intrigued by the suggestion of a love child GPU using both AMD and Nvidia tech. All the strengths and none of the weaknesses. We can christen it, AMvidia, and use it to heal divides and bring PC gamers together!
I'll give you that. STEAM sells have saved me a lot of money and given me the opportunity to play a lot of old but good games I would have never played on a console. Now that you've mentioned that ... I'm never switching to console.
PS4, because a fool and his money are soon separated. So many threads on upgrading your PC for Fallout.
PC Baby! Not only can I upgrade my pc's spec's to increase game performance later on, I can also download all the mods without having to go through Bethesda!
Pc for its totally comfortable control setup as well as its versatility for doing things more than just playing games.
