PC, because mods add almost infinite replay value to the game.

I still play Morrowind and Oblivion thanks to mods. Updated content and graphics.

If there's a collectors edition of skyrim I'll get that for my PC and the standard edition for my xbox 360.

PC all the way down:
32" TV/Monitor (with probable 2 X19" for tripple monitors)
More controls,
Full scale modding,
Better grafics,
Mouse and keyboard for the win
No need to switch disc for other games
Can work while play or vice versa
Multi application in one platform
And soooooo much more.

I'm 100% loyal to console gaming. Xbox 360. However, once GOTY comes out (as I'm sure it will), and provided that the PC version is compatible with the Xbox controller, I'll buy it on PC so I can try mods.

PC no question, not only for the fact that I don't have any of the consoles, but I love modding the hell out of my games and there has unfortunately bee a trend away from modable games, so I am going to get the ones that can be modded.

The infinite possibilities granted by the PC modding community are what really makes the games last. although, the sandbox-nature of TES also lends itself to a good bit of re-playability.

I think that a lot of PC games nowadays are often becoming more like their console counterparts, with the control schemes being dumbed down and the gameplay and story much more linear. While I enjoy playing Dragon Age, I love Oblivion so much more for its openness, and that is what's constantly bringing me back.

No, they aren't. Both are capable of outputting in 1080p, neither is capable of rendering a scene of any significant complexity in 1080p. The PS3 has a handful of games that spend potions of their time in 1080p, and go down to lower resolutions when things actually happen, but that's all. I say 'standard' because a significant amount of console games are sub-HD, like CoD, Halo, GTA4, so on.

Very interestingly, while games like GT5 are 1080p, it just goes to show how bad a measurement "1080p" is, because ingame it renders as 1280x1080, and even then has to fall back to 720p when things start happening.

Personally, I can't justify buying a console - I spend £100 more on my PC, make significant savings on games (Because even at full price, PC games are £10 cheaper), don't have to pay out of the ass for every single peripheral and secondary service, actually get a little bit of freedom, and can use it for other things. Even if I were constrained to console level resolutions and graphics, without mods, it's a no-brainer.

Additionally, I play games to have fun - not to play "what was intended". What was intended was for me to mod it, hence the release of a very good editor and modding structure. Oblivion itself is hardly what was intended, being cut down at the last moment to fit on previously unknown consoles (Though that's really not their fault, as upon their release they were half decent).

Just shut ya pipehole ,and give it rest.....ok!

Consoles are more poplular, they've taken over, just like the gen will.....you like PC we get it....get over your snobbery!

Topics like this ,should be stopped straight away,it always end's in the same [censored]. As long as we can all play skyrim who gives a flying [censored] ?

PC user's are usually the ones to start such things, they fear console's and are jealous. Find me a PC and monitor for the price of an xbox = 200 ,for the new 250Gb xbox....some of you talk through your arseholes....and it's getting frustrating.

Things on this forum are getting boring and monotonous.....it's no wonder that todd prefers neogaff forums,to this. Some really nice sensible people on here...sadly ,the idiots take over!

PC, I'll have to get a better one though, the one I have now is not gonna be able to handle Skyrim.
And I want to be able to mod the game, even if the vanilla game itself is going to be epic enough.

Anything that is an opinion is clearly marked, otherwise nothing I said was false. I'm sorry if facts get in the way of your worldview, but if somebody posts things that I know for a fact are incorrect, regardless of the topic, I tend to correct them.

And now for the opinions, but with a healthy dose of facts too: Intel's measurements show an install base of gaming class graphics cards higher than either console, and steam, the majority of the digital distribution market estimated to account for slightly over 50% of all PC sales took almost a billion dollars last year. PC users have nothing to be jealous about, both console and PC gaming are doing just fine. While I can only apologise that my (fact backed) opinions do not mesh with your own, that will not be changing any time soon. While I'm sure I get in the way of your sense of anti-elitism elitism with my pesky numbers and facts, you can rest assured that if the quantum many-worlds theory is true there is an infinite number of universes where you are correct.

I also invite you to find me an xbox and a TV for the price of an xbox, by the way, as well as a fighter jet and an airport for the price of a lego set.

I read what he said and there wasn't anything untrue. In fact he really didn't actually say PC is better he merely said why he personally prefers PC over consoles. Your the one who needs to shut ya pipehole.

I'm talking in general...every topic like this gets out of hand, mainly because PC user's can't help but boast or play down the consoles,it's boring and monotonous.
I've said what i've said.....deal with it. Reading the same topics/comments over and over is like groundhog day. People should just be happy that we are getting another elder scrolls game anyway.
As for shuting my pipehole....i will....i've had enough of this [censored],i let you kids fight it out.

While I'm really really REALLY hoping that my laptop can run it at everything set to the lowest possible setting (Seems to work with a fair amount of recent games like DA2 DS2). Otherwise its ps3 for me.

I suspect they are talking about size. Most people have their computer hooked up to a monitor in room A, that monitor is maybe 24 inches. Their TV with consoles attached is in room B in front of a couch, the TV is 40+inches. I'd rather watch 720p on a 40inch monitor than 1080p on a 24inch monitor. This isn't to say you can't hook your pc up to the big TV, just that most people don't have it set up that way.

Thats not how it works..quite the opposite. The monitor would have almost a 3.5x better resolution than the 40inch TV screen because it has more pixels over a smaller surface, rather than less pixels spread out over a larger surface. This is why the Oblivion UI was so massive, it needed to be massive so the console users could see what they said, and why PC UI mods scaled it down to 1/10th it's size for an equally legible size.

I own both a good PC and a 360 with a 38inch HDTV and my PC resolution is infinitely better, and with the use of mods- makes Oblivion competitive with any of the new games today. Heck, i even force features to a higher degree than the game options allow for simply because my PC can do so much more than my 360. The consoles are good for hack and slash games, racing games, and flight games- but thats only due to the controller, somthing that can easily be fixed with new PC plugins.

PC if my rig is good enough to run it in FullHD, medium settings, and the 360 If the Xbox controller is not officially supported for the PC.

If both occurs, then I get for PC, and Xbox 360

Personally I'd much rather take more detail on a smaller screen than less detail on a bigger one. Since when was lower pixel density a good idea?

@br0sk1; Pretty much any modern PC has more than enough spare power to ensure perfect framerate well above the console 'standard' of 720p.

After 10 minutes of play I rarely notice the extra detail, so huge screens are cooler to me. Might be because I am so damn old that only the rich used to have big screen TVs and I'm not used to this idea that everyone can have one nowadays making it an awesome novelty. Still don't have one myself, or any TV for that matter.(not out of elitism, just don't want to pay for cable, now that I am becoming netflix addicted I might get one) So all of my platforms are hooked up to my 24"monitor. And like I said earlier in this thread, I just always play rpgs on PCs if given the option. So for skyrim it is PC. Some rpgs are only on the console so I use those, like final fantasy games.
