What's your platform of choice?

right, amateurs. you know that hard core thing from NV? well modders made that for morrowind nine years before NV even came out, its a little thing called NOM. if you look at the best mods they are usually at least two or three generations more advance (script wise) than the actuall developer made games.

Not to mention they admitted they took alot of inspiration (as in pretty much copied) from skycaptains deadly reflex mod for the melee combat.

PC just for the editor. I really enjoy cutting open the belly of TES games and removing it's organs. That and the console for debugging.

I deny it. I get the full game on my PS3 and 360 players do, as well. If you're referring to mods, I don't like amateur, unofficial content. Mods are not the game itself, so they are not a game's unlocked potential and I just don't care for mods.

I agree. Of course I always make mods for my own use (merchants and housing for taste and convenience), and this sentiment is not meant to disparage the fantastic work the modding community contributed to the series, but I play any of TES titles 99% vanilla, and even then I could do it 100% and still enjoy the game for hundreds of hours.

Pc and Xbox360. Why? Me and my brother are both wanting to play this, so I'm getting copies for each. (pc for me, xbox for him) And i wouldn't mind talking to my friends as i play on xbox, as none of my friends have pc, and i haven't even ordered the parts for the pc i'm going to be playing skyrim on.

Let me guess, this poll is to decide which platforms will get new future content for the game (obviously Pc and XBox) and which won`t (Ps3), am I wrong?

With Oblivion Pc an Xbox users enjoyed mods like The vile lair, Fighters Stronghold, etc, while Ps3 users........ mmmmmm nothing, seems it`s going to be the same this time with Skyrim.

Consoles are 1080p these days. And the graphics are fine. I just want to enjoy the vanilla game, what was intended by the developer. I havn't got time for mods and frankly couldn't justify the price difference just for better graphics and mods. Its all about the game itself and gameplay for me, something that many overlook these days. So 360 thanks.

No, they aren't. Both are capable of outputting in 1080p, neither is capable of rendering a scene of any significant complexity in 1080p. The PS3 has a handful of games that spend potions of their time in 1080p, and go down to lower resolutions when things actually happen, but that's all. I say 'standard' because a significant amount of console games are sub-HD, like CoD, Halo, GTA4, so on.

Very interestingly, while games like GT5 are 1080p, it just goes to show how bad a measurement "1080p" is, because ingame it renders as 1280x1080, and even then has to fall back to 720p when things start happening.

Personally, I can't justify buying a console - I spend £100 more on my PC, make significant savings on games (Because even at full price, PC games are £10 cheaper), don't have to pay out of the ass for every single peripheral and secondary service, actually get a little bit of freedom, and can use it for other things. Even if I were constrained to console level resolutions and graphics, without mods, it's a no-brainer.

Additionally, I play games to have fun - not to play "what was intended". What was intended was for me to mod it, hence the release of a very good editor and modding structure. Oblivion itself is hardly what was intended, being cut down at the last moment to fit on previously unknown consoles (Though that's really not their fault, as upon their release they were half decent).

I could play it on either but I'll be buying for 360.

I'm a consle player through and through, been that way since Halo: Combat Evolved and Morrowind.

I just find having all the tools you need in one compact controller is a much nicer feel than a keyboard and mouse. Always found playing games on the PC to be 'Tacky'. Simply because the PC wasn't soley designed to play games. Its just that they have the capability to do so these days.

The 360 was 'designed' for gaming. And I'm also totally dedicated to the Xbox anyway. The only stuff I play on PC are MMO's, but then I'd probably play them on consoles if they started doing that. I just hate gaming on a PC interface. Its like joyriding in your dads banged up mecedes.

I played Morrowind and Oblivion on Xbox/Xbox 360. Now that I've graduated and moved out of my parents' house, I'll probably be playing Skyrim on the PC. I'll have to get an Xbox controller for the PC though, since I'm used to using it for games.

Xbox 360 at first. Not particularly bothered about seeing a tree in slightly less definition than the PC, but if I want to experience mods or just mess around and cheat then I'll get it for the PC, like I did with Oblivion.

It's going to depend on how much I need to upgrade my PC to get a decent experience out of it. If it's going to be hundreds of pounds I'll just get it for PS3 until I have to upgrade the PC for something other than one game. Then again, if Xbox 360 and PS3 can run it, my PC should be able to handle it. I hope.

PC is the only choice for me. Mods, best graphics and unofficial bugfixes(there WILL be bugs even after beth patches) are a must.

There are good (and bad) arguments on all sides of this.

The simplistic argument by some (only from the PC "elitists") that PC is for "hard-core" gamers and consoles are for "casual" gamers always irks me, though. I started playing games on the likes of the Commodore 64 (Munch Man, anyone?) and the Atari 2600 back in the day. I've been playing games on both keybord and console for a long, long time. I was even part of the mod community using Drom-Ed for Thief games. But I'm almost completely converted to console at this point... and still consider myself somewhat of a "hard-core" gamer.

I have PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 -- my choice of system to play Skyrim on. Todd Howard undoubtedly has this choice as well. I thought it was interesting in the podcast that he says he been playing mostly on the Xbox. This isn't intended as an argument or a troll (though it probably will get comments). It's simply meant as: I respect all choices; they all have merits. My choice happens to be Xbox 360 these days.
