What is your preferred gaming mouse?

Post » Sat Mar 08, 2014 5:41 am

After a lot of internal debate, and listening to friends, I decided to get the G700s to play with this game. It should arrive today, and i'm excited to test it out. Anyway, what is your preference? Have you tried the G700s? What skills/macro's do you like to bind to the extra buttons?

Thanks

I'm not really a PC gamer but the mouse that came with my computer works just fine for me.

Still using my old Logitech G500, it has some buttons for macros - I have a G15 keyboard as well but it isn't picking up all of my multiple key presses any more and that's starting to annoy me (so will probably get a mechanical keyboard soon)

Only razer +12 button make sense for MMO. Naga is better even if it is wired - Epic has big problems with Logitech gaming keyboards.

I used to think the same thing, but I ran into a lot of trouble hitting the 4, 5, and 6 numbers for my skills when playing PvP quick enough. Then when I successfully did hit them, my fingers were not able to find the W,A,S,D keys just right so I would end up using a potion, or accidentally hitting my ULT. So, that's what got me interested in a new mouse.

I use a Naga, works fine for me. Comfortable and I like the thumb inputs.

I prefer the one I have, because it isn't in a different location.

I mapped 6 key on mouse to dodge - it really works much better then double hitting WASD keys.

@GrundelWolfe, I don't have any problems with that, I may be a little slow at it but no problems. Also, I use the arrow keys instead of the WASD keys.

Logitech G600 MMO gaming mouse with G110 keyboard and Razer Nostromo keypad. The nostromo is old, I may be upgrading that soon. I would reccomend the Logitech mouse over the Razer Naga. I owned a naga and after a time it gets that annoying double click problem.

I like that idea. Thanks, I will for sure be using it cause I noticed the same issue when trying to dodge.

different mouse for different types of games.

The best fps mouse ever made is the wheel mouse optical. It has won more tournaments, used by the most pro's of any mouse in history. Quakecon 2013, the 2 finalists both using the wmo which was made by Microsoft in 2001.

WMO best mouse ever.

I had a Razr Copperhead and the build quality was dreadful, it wore out after a few months and I avoid them these days. Logitechs on the other hand tend to outlive me.

G300 works fine.

G700 isn't that bad either

G400 isn't that good.

I would have done my own computer mouse in my school, but the teachers wouldn't let me, because I would need an engineer degree (to make one mouse?).

So what I'm currently doing is new case for my old regular computer mouse that shapes a bit like good gaming mouses do. (Using Autodesk Inventor and 3D printer)

I can't really afford a gaming mouse

This kind of stuff is way too expansive around here...

But hey, I was just promoted, like last month, so maybe I will be able to get one on soon. Taking notes here, thanks for sharing your preferences guys.

Grundelwolf, I would stay away from wireless mouse, kb, headset if possible. The main reason is not added latency but the DPC latency on the cpu. DPC latency is CPU clock latency. The lower the latency the less the cpu has to wait around to execute. Wireless adds a lot of faults and wait states to the cpu. Many wireless devices will cause a lot of dpc latency and when that happens your machine will run in many ways under spec. You can have a killer computer but have poor performance and never know why!

I would download a dpc latency checker and test your results. http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

Things that really hurt dpc latency are, USB 3, wireless of any type, sleep states in the bios etc.

I have a dpc latency of 3ms. With 0 faults. You want to be sub 50 if you can help it.

It's been moved? Very odd!

Anyway, using the Raza Naga Hex here. Perfect for my old mmo (GW2) and also perfect for ESO. Before this is was just a bog standard mouse, but I love my hex - best money I've ever spent! :D

This was one of my big deciding factors. That and the fact the it's built to withstand a sweaty palm as well, and provide better grip. The sheen on the Naga seemed like it would cause the hand to slip.

I use the logitech g700s myself on my laptop. Really like the mouse myself. The rechargeable battery can die quickly. If I set it on power saver though it lasts much longer and I personally don't notice any difference while using it. Not that it's a big deal on the normal setting it lasts about 12 hours so just remember to plug it in at night when done and good to go.

Logitech G602. Heard about it on the beta forums, got one, and fell in love with it.

I find that odd too. I meant this to be specific for ESO (which is the reason I posted in that forum). I figured there were specific mice for different games that people would prefer, so I don't see why it can't be in there.

Oh well :)
