What's your special going to be?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 10:45 pm

I was just curious with the new information that we're going to have 28 skill points to spend at first, what do you think you're going to put your points into? Obviously people might not know for sure until we see what all the perks do, but if you had to guess what would it be?

Technically we knew about the 28 points back at E3, anyway so far my latest build idea for my first char has not changed even after the few more info we know

But, with the ability to spend points to train my Special Stats, I'll likely end up with a much different layout (Likely with more Strength, Perception, and Endurance, and maxed out Intelligence and Charisma.

At least from the start. I know I want to bump up a few of my SPECIALs so I can get perks like the I9 perk, Inspiration, and the P7 perk. But the first thing I'm doing is getting Solar Powered. I'm intent.

Probably go 4's across the board to start with. And technically we have 21 points to spend at first as no stat can be lower than 1 ;)

I want to play a hyper-intelligent character with good shooting & sneaking ability and decent survivability & crits. After today's overview and from the look of the perk chart, I'm even less concerned for upping Strength than I've ever been. Maybe if I have points to spare & am not high enough a level to increase a desired perk's rank, sure, but otherwise meh. That's become my dump stat in place of Charisma.

I probably won't make up my mind until I start the game. I'll probably start with everything at 4 and then switch some around a bit. So something like:

S: 2
P: 4
E: 2
C: 6
I: 4
A: 6
L: 4

May also try to raise INT a bit at start, drop Str and End all the way to 1s.

Lol, some of the perks I wanted seem to be in different places than what was speculated. Everything looks good now. I didn't care about the high level endurance stuff, but now I want to do a high endurance build also.

The only thing I don't really care for is Nerd Rage! at level 10. I'm probably going to skip that.

Very focused on critical damage through the use of energy weapons and stealth, with a tad bit put into Perception for some slight benefits to lockpicking. Later on will take some training perks to increase Intelligence and Agility to 10 and Luck to 8 for Grim Reaper's Sprint.

At least that's the plan so far. May change when more info is revealed or when I actually see it for myself when playing the game.

After seeing the Perk list -

S: 4,

P: 4,

E: 3,

C: 6,

I: 5,

A: 3,

L: 3.

I'll probably end up with something like -

S: 6,

P: 6,

E: 5,

C: 6,

I: 5,

A: 8,

L: 3.

There'll probably be some tweaks depending on what Bobble heads I find and what they actually do. Like will a perk/skill Bobble head increase a perk that you don't have the S. P. E. C. I. A. L. requirements for?

My starting SPECIAL will reflect what I can figure out about the sole survivors background in game adapted to the man I already have planned out in my head from when the game was first announced.

Leon is a former military man, but he seems to be competent in most areas. I think he'd be well rounded but still remember his old days on the frontline. This would make him physically fit and agile but slightly less charismatic and intelligent. Slightly.

With that in mind:

S: 5,

P: 4,

E: 5,

C: 2,

I: 3,

A: 5

L: 4

If he turns out to be in a leadership or technical role then there would be modifications to the Charisma and Intelligence respectively. I think he's just a standard grunt though. And with his well rounded stats I hope for him to be molded by the experiences of the wasteland into whatever he decides is best. Currently I have it in my head that he'll be focused around societies and rebuilding, to tie into the settlement building features. Might be some development into Charisma once he feels to need to rebuild old Sanctuary Hills into a mighty bastion of civilization.

If charisma ends up being junky again, I'll set it to one and transfer the stats into either perception or luck, unless there's another star that's even more useful.

Somehow i think even though we plan all this out when the game drops we are going to find out certain perks we weren't interested in will do some badass stuff and perks we thought were going to be badass we wont be interested in anymore since we don't ACTUALLY know the names and benefits of each perk and its ladders. All we can do is speculate based on what info we are given and anolyze the pictures and make educated guesses lol.

That's probably why they said they're giving the player another chance to change their SPECIAL once they exit the vault after playing a little bit from their first choices ;)

Yep, this is why I'm not bothering to plan it all out because I know I'm going to change my mind half a hundred times when I get the game in my hands lol
