What is yout favorite armor?

Post » Thu Mar 04, 2010 5:02 am

Light: Amber
Heavy: Daedric
Both without helmets, my character always uses the mages hood, and I dislike using bits of different armour sets

Leather with the green robe hood instead of the helmet.
(Worn) Mithril
And Ebony for heavy armor.

For clothing I usually stick with black hood/robe or the hunters' set.

I would say elven cuirass for females, for some reason it just looks really cool, I also like the glass helmet and boots.
Also I NEVER mix armor, its a pet-peeve, I always stock up on an armor set until i have everything but the helmet before actually wearing it.

I wish that I could make Ebony and Daedric Armor switch places and Ebony was the more powerful one but alas I have no such capabilites on 360.

My character has a full set of Perfect Madness armor; each piece is enchanted with a 20% Resist Magic Sigil Stone. So she's completely immune to all forms of magic. :)
The shield is the highest-level Escutcheon of Chorrol. And, sometimes she'll replace the Helmet with the Arch-Mage's hood, also enchanted with 20% Resist Magic.

If you become a Breton and get the Mundane Ring then you got more enchantment room, but I assume you already know that and didn't want to do it haha.

I am a Breton but even if I got the Mundane Ring, I wouldn't use it. Back when I first played I got the god character with 100% Resist Magic and 101% Reflect Damage and it was no fun after a while and its much funner to RP. I do use the Ring of Vitality though. The alternative would be to become a vampire(I just hate getting paralyzed by Spider Daedra) and I couldn't deal with the restrictions of being one. I have the Amulet of Axes and only use it since I have yet to get a better one in loot with either Health Fatigue or Magicka enhancement.

Yeah, I agree with you Rainman. It's just not very fun with full immunity. My character could have 100% Resist Magic, 101% Reflect Damage, and 100% resistance to Disease/Paralysis/Poison, making her close to invulnerable, but it just wasn't that fun to play. I choose not to use the full Reflect Damage, and built a mod that makes armor enchantments weaken as the armor takes damage - meaning eventually I'm no longer invulnerable to magic.

Without mods

I really like mithril and elven armour for light armour.

Dweamer for heavy.

I used to prefer the green velvet outfit for clothing, but the casting anim seems iffy to me now.

I'm sure that there have been millions of these threads but I wanted to make one. What is your favorite pieces of armor? Not as a whole but just a piece from it, like I really love the orchish gauntlets .They are my favorite in the game. If your favorite armor is a mod then maybe you could put a link to it so that we know what it looks like also.

I think its fun to mix and match. What do you wear. I wear orchish gauntlets and boots and wear a russelfelt (sp?) dress and only use a small sword or dagger(role play reasons) and a hood

I like the Elven Cuirass, myself.

Close second is the helmet of the Divine Crusader.

I like mithril chainmail. Question - I'm currently experimenting with making armor more protective (or clothing, for that matter). Which spells do I use in enchanting? I'm not sure the "Protection" family of spells (with the li'l purple shield) is the right one.

I would recommend you look at fire shield, frost shield and shock shield. Because they add solid armor rating and some elemental protection at the same time, I prefer them to just 'shield' enchanting. :)

The only enchantments that raise your armor rating are normal shield and fire/frost/shock shield. In my opinion though you are better off enchanting with Fortify Magicka and casting a shield spell, at least until you master Light Armor and get full glass and expert armorer.

On clothing some shield spells are a good start, heavy armour you're better focusing on anti magic effects imo.
The best way is to mix and match magic defense and pure defense on clothing and armour, and some buffer spells like detect life, water breathing on some amulets and rings unless you can cast high leveled ones early.

Leather boots & sackcloth wide pants - they look awesome together (LONG LIVE THE TUTORIAL!!!) Throw on a chain shirt, collared shirt (28732), dark shirt (64F7D) or some other low-key top piecefor maximum awesome.

My favorite female armor: full ebony - it's slender and has flair while still covering everything. Modded female armors that look like bikinis really annoy me.

Favorite male armor: full plate - I think average grunts are awesome. My character aspires to be one when he grows up and saves Cyrodiil.

Favorite robe: Black. Can't help it. Some robes, like the white and monk, look great on passerby NPC's but for some reason I just wouldn't consider them for myself.

Madness Armor.

Not just for the stats but I also really like how it looks.
I have a sort of affinity for things that are insane, strange, and sort of demented looking. So naturally, I adore it.

Also when Immortal's All Shall Fall album came out I totally thought of Madness Armor upon seeing the style of the album art.

Alas, the version for the ladies looks like dung of troll. :(
What's a girl supposed to wear in Bruma? Really now. *sigh* I guess that's what mods are for. :P
