Whatever happened to Jiub?

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 8:34 pm

I mean, he says in the opening dialogue "I'm sure they'll let US go soon..."

So what happened, you never see him again in Morrowind?

There is a dialogue line in Oblivion about how Jiub helped the nerevarine and was sainted, but that's not really part of the game.

I think he would make a good companion.

Is there a mod that does that?

He is no longer seen in the game.
Yes, there are a few mods that add content for him. There is a companion mod with him, and smaller ones that add his presence in the game.

I think it is implied that he helped the nerevarine make it through that last night of the boat ride to morrowind.

Ahh, and so then setting the stage for the pc to become nerevarine.

He became a saint as he was renowned for driving the cliffraces from Vvardenfell. He was killed during the Oblivion crisis.

But without mods, he has not been seen....

Who said he was killed?

The http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Jiub#Jiub, apparently:

He was canonized by the Tribunal Temple for driving the cliff racers from Vvardenfell, though what sphere he is a patron of is unknown. He was killed during the Oblivion Crisis in a Daedra attack. Saint Jiub's Fair is a circus-like festival held in his honor.

They don't list a source for that statement, though. I certainly don't remember hearing anything about that in Oblivion...just that he'd driven the cliff racers from Vvardenfell. Nothing in the Infernal City / Lord of Souls tie-ins either. Maybe it's mentioned somewhere in Skyrim, and I just haven't found it yet.

The resource is the phrase of this rumour NPCs will tell you: "Many are dead in the land of the Dunmer. Even St. Jiub, who drove the cliffracers from Vvardenfell, has fallen to the daedra hordes."

It's random dialogue, it can be discussed between any two NPCs.

Got it. I may RP a player in Oblivion as him then and pretend he survived. Only I can't make that scar

shame on you for not getting pcversions of both. You have missed a great deal of fun. My advice, buy a pc and play the hell out of morrowind and oblivion. You really will enjoy it more

I know. With 5 kids, I cannot afford to buy a PC worth gaming on. I bought an old X-Box with Morrowind GOTY with 10 other games for $40 on craigslist. No brainer. Been a Playstaion loyalist for years
