This http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834115763 would be decent for most games. Or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220715&Tpk=asus%20g60vxone.

Buy a desktop and one of those backpacks to hold it, carry it with you, love it, treat it like a baby. Even feed it. the monitor can be strapped to your stomach.

I hear a lot on asus when it comes to gaming laptops though. Toshiba's run great imo too.

I have recommended it before and those who have got say that they are enjoying it. Although I must remind you its recertified, but still is a great buy.

Check your local Best Buy for this:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i5+Processor+-+Blue/Black/9736955.p;jsessionid=1D994CB896CEEAEE4E08FF174E1AC448.bbolsp-app03-09?id=1218164036446&skuId=9736955

Recertified meaning repackaged and tested for resale. May have been a return or defective product at some point, but company recertifies back to operating specs. I find the Best Buy deal to be a better option anyways though.

I find the best gaming laptop to be a desktop :hehe:

I use my crusty old laptop for playing PC games on (my desktop is purely for music-orientated stuff) and I'm surprised it hasn't totally melted from all the heat.

Yea Asus is a good brand so basically you can't go wrong with it.

But with poor battery life and high temps.

Yea but if I am playing a game its at home plugged into the power cord.As for the high temps yea.I have not had problems but I have to keep it on a smooth surface.

The Toshiba Satellite E205 I just recently got (MSRP ~$1k) seems to run Oblivion fine (and therefore should also be OK with Morrowind).
Don't know about L4D or FO3 though. The E205 has integrated Intel HD Graphics, and while it (unofficially) is able to run OB, the consensus is that it won't do so well with FO3.
