Whats needed for >60 fps on 6050x1080

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 11:19 pm

I know this applies to a minority but I'm currently using 3 27" acers in surround on 3 gtx 570's. The game wont do mp at playable fps's on anything more than very high settings at this res. So can anyone suggest what will do a constant 60 fps on ultra everything with dx11/high res enabled at 6050x1080? I can speculate but Im building another rig so Im considering what I'll need.

setup:
sb 2600k at 4.9 z68mobo
w/e16gb ram at 2133 (best timings I can muster)
ssd raid 0
ax 1200 psu
Plausible options:

3 580's (3gb)
2 590's

Im not too keen on ATI but Im looking for suggestions so w/e u guys have to offer would help....Im constantly trolling here and youtube to see what others have done but havent found nething sustantial yet.

lol, I just wanna go all out on this build. Ive found some vids where 4 580's on a 990x hitting mid 60's. I think they were the 3gb version. Guy had it running on 30" portraits. Dunno if it was dx11 though. The 6050 is just how my bezel correction worked out to be otherwise its like 5070x1080. Right now I play at 4700x1200 on extreme/very high mix for low 50's in MP which isnt too bad.

no, its indeed very good! 50fps are very nice. with 4700x1200 on extreme you could even set everything except shading to ultra, youll get around 47 fps... lol you must have the helluva machine. return NASA their computer man! :D do you use eyefinity?

I think you're wasting your time and money building such a machine just to get Crysis 2 maxed out at a constant 60FPS.

If I was building just for c2 I'd agree but I'm really looking to build a rig that can run c2 and future games like up n coming bf3 at the highest possible settings while using nvidias surround config.

three 6990 cards. that is the most powerful setup available. but it might not get you what you want becuse MP is not tweaked as well as the single player for framerate, some MP maps run reallly fast and some run slower in comparison.

You can't have 3 590s...
